LEGO NINJAGO 71854 Cole’s Mission Mech & Dragon Zane Building Set
Product description
For children aged 7+ who want to build their own ninja adventure, LEGO NINJAGO Cole’s Mission Mech & Dragon Zane combines a hands-on construction project with characters and accessories for imaginative play. The set has 364 pieces and recreates adventures from season 4 of the NINJAGO Dragons Rising TV show.
The finished mech stands over 19 cm tall and has movable parts for changing its pose. Once the build is complete, children can place Cole in the chest cockpit and use the included figures and weapons to stage battles.
How it fits
This set suits children who enjoy both building and acting out fantasy adventures. The mech’s posable head, arms, shoulder armour, fingers, legs and ankles make it easy to arrange different action scenes, while its chest cockpit gives Cole a place in the build. A backpack stores the mech’s weapon accessories between battles.
The play has two natural stages: concentrate on assembling the 364 pieces, then bring the finished model into role-play. That makes it a different kind of choice from a toy aimed mainly at immediate action, with the construction itself forming part of the experience. It also offers a familiar setting for fans of Dragons Rising to recreate scenes or invent their own ninja encounters.
Why it’s worth it
Three LEGO NINJAGO minifigures give the story more than one side: Cole comes with a hammer, Dragon Form Zane has a sword, and the Acid Monster carries a staff. The mech adds a sword, staff and spring-loaded blaster with two darts, giving children several ways to set up a battle. Its weapons can also be swapped with weapons from the Riyu Ninja Dragon set (71855), sold separately.
For a building session, the LEGO Builder app offers digital instructions that can be zoomed and rotated in 3D, with progress tracking. The combination of a substantial build, an articulated mech and three characters gives children plenty of elements to arrange into their own scenes after assembly.
