LEGO Animal Crossing Timmy & Tommy's Fun Day Out 77059 Building Set, 513 Pieces

Build a fishing scene for Timmy and Tommy, then give it a place on a bedroom shelf as a colourful Animal Crossing display. This LEGO set brings a familiar video game moment into hands-on brick building.

The scene includes a bridge, lake and two posable, brick-built figures. A rotating section makes the fish appear to swim, while cracked ground opens to reveal a hidden fossil.

For a more involved play session, children can move the figures and accessories around to create different scenes. The result suits both imaginative play and display, rather than being only a static model.

Strengths

The two figures can stand on the bridge or be placed elsewhere in the scene, giving children room to change the setup as they play. Turn the disc to make the fish look as though they are swimming, and open the cracked earth to uncover the fossil. These interactive details give the build more to explore after assembly.

Accessories add recognisable touches from Animal Crossing, including a fishing rod, bait, a flag, a butterfly on a transparent posing stick and a balloon present with a DIY recipe card. Together, they help children create a lively scene instead of leaving the characters on their own. It can be arranged as a display for a gaming-themed bedroom or used as the starting point for imaginative play.

What to know

The set contains 513 pieces and is recommended for ages 10 and up. Assembly is required, making it a hands-on activity as well as a finished display piece. For children who enjoy building, the LEGO Builder app offers 3D instructions with options to zoom in, rotate the model and track progress.

A practical choice between a display model and a play set often comes down to whether the finished build can still be changed and explored. Here, the movable figures, rotating fish feature and opening fossil area keep the scene interactive. The small parts also mean it is not suitable for children under 3 years old.

Who it’s for

This set is aimed at Animal Crossing fans aged 10 and up who enjoy building recognisable characters and adding details to a scene. It also suits children looking for a birthday gift with both a building activity and a finished piece of gaming-room décor. A simple display model may suit someone who wants a fixed ornament, this set makes more sense for a child who will enjoy positioning the characters, turning the feature and inventing different moments by the bridge.

Should you buy it?

Choose Timmy & Tommy's Fun Day Out if the appeal is a build that can move from construction to ongoing play and display. The two posable figures, fishing scene and hidden fossil give Animal Crossing fans several details to interact with, while the accessories help complete the setting. It makes sense if the recipient enjoys both building with LEGO bricks and creating their own scenes with familiar game characters.
