LEGO Creator 3in1 Haunted Mansion 31167 Building Set, 736 Pieces, 5 Minifigures

Build a spooky two-storey house for imaginative play, then rebuild the same LEGO bricks into a haunted ship or train. The LEGO Creator 3in1 Haunted Mansion 31167 gives children aged 9+ three different settings for creating eerie stories.

The set contains 736 pieces and five minifigures: a werewolf, vampire, ghost, Frankenstein’s monster and skeleton. The ghost has a glow-in-the-dark cape, and each character comes with an accessory.

Choose between the detailed mansion, a ship or a train with a platform. The three models are built one at a time, giving this set a changeable format rather than a single fixed build.

Worth noting

The mansion is packed with features to explore during play: an opening front gate, graveyard, scary tree, organ and an opening back. Turn a wheel to reveal a hidden ghost, adding a simple interactive moment to spooky stories. The tree can be detached, too, so the scene can be arranged for different play ideas.

The alternative builds bring their own settings. Rebuild the house as a haunted ship, where the cabin roof lifts off for play inside, or as a haunted train set with a platform for the characters. When assembled as the house, the model measures over 25 cm high, 24 cm wide and 15 cm deep, making it a substantial display piece between play sessions.

Usage tips

Start with the mansion to explore its moving features and hidden ghost, then choose the ship or train when a new setting would suit the next story. As the models use the same bricks, rebuilding is the way to switch between them, they cannot be assembled simultaneously.

The LEGO Builder app offers a digital way to follow the build. Children can save sets, track progress, and zoom in on or rotate the models in 3D while working through the construction. The set is recommended for ages 9 and up, and its small parts mean it is not suitable for children under 3.

Getting the most from it

Use the five characters to give each setting a cast and a story. The werewolf, vampire, ghost, Frankenstein’s monster and skeleton support role-play across all three builds, while the mansion’s graveyard and spooky details provide plenty of prompts for inventing scenes. The platform gives the train build a place for characters to arrive or depart, on the ship, the removable cabin roof opens up the interior for play.

The 3-in-1 format suits children who enjoy building but also like changing the scene once a model is complete. Compared with choosing a single house, train or ship set, this gives them three build directions in one box, with rebuilding at the centre of the play. Buyers particularly appreciate the eerie appearance and detailed characters, and describe the construction as an enjoyable project, including for Halloween.

Buying verdict

For a child aged 9+ who enjoys LEGO building, spooky characters and making up stories, the Haunted Mansion 31167 combines a hands-on build with several ways to play. Its interactive house features, five minifigures and two alternative builds make it a fitting choice for Halloween-themed fun or for anyone who wants a LEGO set that can be rebuilt into a fresh setting.
