LEGO Disney Moana 2 Kakamora Barge 43258 Building Set with 572 Pieces

Key specifications

The barge separates into three boats, so the finished build offers more than one way to set up a Moana 2 adventure. Its zipline, spinning wheel and coconut catapult add movable play features alongside the building itself.

With 572 pieces and a recommended age of 7+, this LEGO Disney set is aimed at children who enjoy both construction and imaginative play. It includes several familiar characters, giving the boats a ready-made crew once they are assembled.

Usage tips

The barge can be kept together as one larger vessel or split into three buildable boats for separate play scenarios. Children can send Moana or the Kakamora along the zipline between boats, use the catapult, or try the spinning barrel and wheel. That mix makes it suited to a play session that moves between building and acting out scenes, rather than a kit intended only for display.

The LEGO Builder app offers instructions with 3D model views, zoom and rotation, plus progress tracking and saved models. It may be useful when a child wants to inspect a step from another angle, though the set can also be approached as a conventional build using its instructions. It’s a good fit if the appeal is a character-led build with different ways to arrange and play with the boats. Compared with a simpler, single-vessel kit, the three-part barge gives more scope for changing the setup, that extra variety is the main reason to choose this version.

What you get

The set contains the Kakamora Barge, a smaller two-hulled canoe with storage space, a Moana mini doll, a Maui figure, Heihei and six Kakamora, including Kotu. The barge has a hidden treasure chest, a playable drum and a coconut catapult, while the smaller canoe adds another place to store items. The stated assembled dimensions refer to the barge, not the canoe or the complete play layout.

There are several small elements, and the safety warning says the set is not suitable for children under 3 because of a choking hazard. Better avoided if you are choosing a toy for a child below that age, the stated age range is 7+.

Is it worth it?

The appeal here is the combination of a substantial character set, a build that can be separated into boats and features that invite hands-on play after assembly. That gives it a clearer use beyond putting together a model once and leaving it on a shelf. It is most likely to suit a Moana fan who enjoys both following a build and making up their own scenes, while someone looking for a small, straightforward boat build may prefer a less elaborate format. The multiple boats and figures are useful if play is shared or the story keeps changing, but the supplied information does not specify building time or the size of the other models.
