Pieviev ZDX04-DM09 Extra-Large Silicone Cat Litter Mat, 40 x 28 in

For cat owners looking to catch loose litter around the box, the Pieviev ZDX04-DM09 provides a wide 40 x 28-inch silicone surface with a raised pattern to collect particles from cats’ paws. Its raised edges help contain urine and spills, while the non-slip backing helps keep the mat in place during everyday use.

The soft silicone surface is designed for paws and can also serve as a feeding area beneath food and water bowls. Shake or rinse the mat to clear away collected litter, then pour reusable litter back into the box.

Key points

The raised grooves give stray litter a place to collect instead of scattering directly across the floor. Set the mat at the litter box entrance to catch particles as your cat steps out. Its generous 40 x 28-inch format provides a broad area around the box, and the 0.6-inch raised edge helps contain liquid and litter-box misses. A non-slip backing helps the mat stay positioned on the floor.

Silicone makes the mat waterproof and simple to clean. Shake it gently to move trapped litter back toward the box, or rinse away remaining debris with water. The surface is also described as soft on cat paws, making it suitable for a spot your cat uses every day.

Customer feedback commonly highlights litter containment, ease of cleaning, size, and everyday functionality. Some buyers, however, describe the mat as flimsy. These comments reflect individual impressions, the documented design features include silicone construction, raised grooves, and a raised edge.

How it fits

Use it beneath or in front of a litter box to create a dedicated landing area for litter that clings to paws. The mat is described as suitable for all types of cat litter and for use with cat litter boxes, including self-cleaning litter boxes. Its broad format offers more floor coverage than a small catcher, which can be useful when litter tends to scatter across the area cats use to enter and exit.

The raised edge adds a boundary around the surface to help contain urine and spills. For routine cleanup, tip collected litter back into the box and shake or rinse the mat. The same surface can go beneath food and water bowls, giving it another practical role in a cat’s feeding area.

Who it’s for

This mat suits cat owners who want a defined, easy-to-clean surface around the litter box and value coverage across a wider area. It is also useful in homes where a mat needs to serve more than one everyday purpose, since it can be used under pet dishes as well as at the litter box. A practical setup is to place it at the box entrance, where the raised pattern can catch litter as paws cross the surface.

If you are choosing between a compact mat and a larger litter-catching surface, the 40 x 28-inch size is the distinguishing detail here. It makes sense if you want broad coverage, a raised edge for containing spills, and a silicone surface that can be shaken or rinsed for cleanup.

Final verdict

The Pieviev ZDX04-DM09 combines a roomy 40 x 28-inch footprint with raised litter-catching grooves, a spill-containing edge, and a non-slip silicone backing. It is a practical fit for a litter-box area that needs broader floor coverage and straightforward cleanup, with the added flexibility to use it beneath food and water bowls.
