HP-Compatible Black Ink Cartridge, 61XL

If your printer uses HP 61 black ink, this two-cartridge replacement pack is aimed at keeping everyday document printing supplied without buying color ink you may not need. It’s listed for a broad set of Envy, DeskJet, and OfficeJet models, and each cartridge is rated for approximately 712 pages at 5% coverage on A4 paper. That estimate gives you a useful point of reference, but it isn’t a promise of the same yield for every household or office, pages with more black ink coverage use more ink.

Technical details

The pack contains two 61XL black ink cartridges. The seller states an approximate yield of 712 pages per cartridge, measured at 5% coverage on A4 paper, and says the cartridges use updated chips to track ink levels. That tracking may help you see when ink is running low, while crisp black text is the intended use for documents and files. The cartridges are reported to be made in an ISO 9001-certified facility, and the listing includes a 24-month warranty and customer support for installation or printing problems.

The main limitation is that the page estimate depends on light coverage. A run of mostly text pages is closer to the stated test condition than documents with large dark areas, graphics, or heavy black fills. If your printing is occasional and low-volume, a two-pack may also mean keeping the spare cartridge stored until it’s needed.

Compatibility & requirements

The listed printers include HP Envy 4500 and 5530 series models, OfficeJet 2620 and 4630 series models, and a range of DeskJet printers, including the 1000, 1050, 1510, 2000, 2510, 2540, 3000, 3050, and 3510 series. Specific models named in the listing include Envy 4501 and 5532, OfficeJet 4635, and DeskJet 1010, 2542, and 3511. This is a replacement cartridge, not a universal black ink supply, so match your printer’s exact model number against the supported list before ordering.

Usage tips

For a practical sense of the yield, consider a week of printing school handouts, household forms, or office documents that are mainly black text. That kind of workload is a closer fit for the stated 5% coverage estimate than a stack of image-heavy pages. Install the cartridge according to your printer’s usual process, then use the ink-level tracking to keep an eye on remaining supply. If the printer reports a problem, the listing says support is available for installation and printing issues.

Before you decide

Does the pack include color ink? No. The listing specifies two black cartridges, so it won’t replenish color ink.

Is 712 pages guaranteed for each cartridge? No. It’s an approximate estimate based on 5% coverage on A4 paper, actual yield depends on how much ink your pages use.

Does it fit every HP printer? No. It is listed for selected Envy, DeskJet, and OfficeJet models, not all HP printers. Confirm the exact model is included.

Should you buy it?

It makes sense if you own a printer from the listed model families, mainly print black text, and want two replacement cartridges on hand. The chip-based ink tracking and stated warranty are useful details if you value visibility into remaining ink and access to help with setup. Not the best choice if your printer model isn’t listed, you need color ink, or your typical pages have heavy black coverage and you’re counting on the stated yield. For those needs, choose a cartridge that explicitly matches your printer and print workload rather than relying on the page estimate alone.
