E-Z Ink TN221 Toner Cartridges

If you’re choosing between buying one replacement cartridge at a time and keeping a spare ready, this E-Z Ink TN221 two-pack is aimed at the second approach. It includes two black cartridges for compatible Brother color laser printers, so it can reduce the chance of running out mid-document without adding color toner you may not need.

Each cartridge is rated for 2,500 pages at 5% coverage. Actual yield depends on how much of each page is covered, so pages with dense graphics or heavy text may use toner faster. What does that mean for everyday printing? It’s a practical fit for routine black-and-white documents, but the stated yield isn’t a promise of the same page count for every workload.

How to use it

These cartridges are replacements for Brother TN221 black toner. The supplied compatibility list includes HL-3140CW, HL-3150CW, HL-3170CDW, HL-3142CW, HL-3152CDW, HL-3172CDW, MFC-9140CDN, MFC-9130CW, MFC-9330CDW, MFC-9340CDW, and DCP-9020CDN. The product name also references HL-3180CDW. Since the listing names specific printer models, match your printer’s exact model number to that list before buying rather than relying on the Brother brand alone.

For a home office, that might mean keeping the second cartridge in a supply drawer and swapping it in when the first runs low. The package includes a user guide, though no installation steps or special handling details are provided here. These are black cartridges only, not a mixed-color set.

Pros

• Two black TN221 replacement cartridges are included, useful if you prefer to keep a spare on hand.
• The stated yield is 2,500 pages per cartridge at 5% coverage, giving a reference point for ordinary text printing.
• The listed compatibility covers several Brother HL, MFC, and DCP printer models.
• The product is presented as a compatible alternative to Brother TN221 toner, rather than as an original Brother cartridge.

It’s a great fit if your printer is one of the listed models and most of your printing is black text, forms, or other everyday documents. Better avoided if you need color toner, require an original Brother cartridge, or can’t confirm your printer model against the compatibility list. The yield figure is an estimate tied to 5% coverage, not a fixed result for every print job.

When it makes sense

Choose this pack when you want two black replacements for a listed Brother printer and value having a backup more than buying a single cartridge. The compatible format can suit shoppers open to a non-Brother replacement, those who prioritize an original-brand cartridge should take a different route. The key trade-off is straightforward: you get two black cartridges and a stated per-cartridge yield, but no color supplies, and actual page life will vary with print coverage. Check the model number carefully before ordering, especially if your printer name is close to one of the listed models.
