The shaped rest gives your thumb a defined place to brace against the camera, helping make a one-handed hold feel more secure and comfortable. Its wave texture provides anti-slip support, while the lightweight metal construction adds grip without turning the accessory into a bulky handle. The anodized finish gives the black surface a clean, coordinated look.

What it works with

This thumb grip is designed for the Fujifilm X-E5 and attaches through the camera’s hot shoe. Once seated, it adds a thumb-resting point while covering the hot-shoe contacts to help shield them from dust, moisture and accidental impacts. Its design is intended to leave the camera’s buttons and dials accessible, so the added support can be used without obstructing normal control access.

Compared with a basic hot-shoe cover, this accessory has a more active role in the handhold: it covers the shoe and gives your thumb a textured surface to brace against. That makes it a practical fit for photographers who want extra support without changing to a larger grip. For a walk-around shoot, for example, the rest gives your thumb a consistent contact point as you carry and operate the camera one-handed.

Usage tips

Slide the grip into the Fujifilm X-E5’s hot shoe and seat it securely before shooting. The grooved design is made for straightforward insertion and removal, so the accessory can be taken off when you want to use the hot shoe for another purpose. Keep the wave-textured thumb area under your thumb while holding the camera to make use of its anti-slip support. When fitted, the grip also covers the hot-shoe contacts, helping keep dust and moisture away from that area.

What to clarify

Which camera is this thumb rest made for? It is designed for the Fujifilm X-E5. Its fit is specific to that camera model, rather than a general-purpose thumb grip for any camera with a hot shoe.

Does it cover the hot shoe as well as support the thumb? Yes. It fits into the hot shoe and acts as a cover for the contacts, while its shaped, textured surface provides a place to brace your thumb.

Will it block the camera’s buttons or dials? The design is described as non-obstructive, with access to the camera’s controls maintained when the grip is installed.

Is it worth it?

For Fujifilm X-E5 owners who want more thumb support without switching to a larger handgrip, this compact hot-shoe accessory brings two useful functions together. The aluminum construction, anti-slip wave pattern and contact-covering fit make it suited to everyday shooting where a steadier one-handed hold and protection for the hot shoe are both welcome.
