Compatibility
The three connector types support file transfers across a range of devices: Lightning-equipped iPhones and iPads, USB-C devices, and USB connections for computers and other compatible hardware. Android phones need OTG support. Apple devices require iOS 12.1 or later and the U-Disk app, Android and PC use do not require an app download. Windows 7 or later and Mac OS 10.6 or later are listed as compatible.
This is a practical alternative to moving files through a cloud service when you want a physical drive for backups or transfers. For example, you can copy photos from an iPhone to the drive, then connect it to a compatible computer to access those files. Compatibility can depend on the device and connection, so match the connector and operating system to the device you plan to use.
Usage tips
Use the U-Disk app on iOS to back up photos, videos, and contacts with its one-tap backup feature. The app can also automatically save photos and videos captured with its in-app camera to a U-Disk album, making them easier to find and manage. For sharing, files on the drive can be sent directly to social platforms through the app.
The app also offers options to protect the drive or selected files with a passcode or Touch ID. Choose the protection option that suits the files you plan to store. For trips or business travel, the drive can keep movies and music together with personal files, ready to access from a compatible device.
