COLCASE HBox001 Fireproof Document Box with Combination Lock and Hard Shell

At 15 x 11 x 5 inches, the COLCASE HBox001 gives important papers and small valuables a dedicated place in a compact hard-shell organizer. Its fiberglass construction is coated with fire-retardant silicone, and the box passed the UL-94 VTM-0 Burning Test. A water-resistant exterior and combination lock add practical features for storing documents at home or carrying them when needed.

Inside, accordion pockets, mesh compartments, card slots, USB-drive pockets, and pen holders help keep different items sorted rather than stacked together.

Tips for day-to-day use

Use the separate pockets to group items by type—for example, keep passports and certificates apart from cash, cards, or USB drives. The layout also suits household paperwork that needs to stay together and easy to locate. For a planned move or an emergency, the metal handle makes the box easier to carry, while the hard shell helps it hold its shape during storage.

The combination lock provides a secured closure for everyday document organization. Set aside a consistent place for the box so essential files remain easy to find, and use the internal sections to return each item to its designated spot. Its water-resistant design adds another layer of protection for stored contents.

What stands out

The hard-shell design sets this organizer apart from a simple document envelope: it combines a structured case with dedicated spaces for papers and smaller essentials. That arrangement can be useful for keeping travel documents, certificates, cash, and storage drives together without letting them mingle in one open compartment. The interior measures 14.4 x 10.4 x 4.4 inches, giving files a defined storage area while the smaller pockets handle loose items.

Buyers often praise the roomy layout and solid construction. Feedback on the lock is mixed, however: some find it works well, while others report jamming or trouble opening it after limited use. The lock is best viewed as a closure for organized document storage, not as a high-security safe.

Is it worth it?

For someone who wants more structure than a basic file pouch, the HBox001 brings fire-test-passed fiberglass construction, a hard shell, a water-resistant finish, and multiple ways to sort documents and small valuables into one carryable case. It is especially suited to organizing household records or keeping important papers and essentials together for travel or emergency storage. If your priority is a single, compartmentalized place for those items, its combination of organized storage and a firm outer shell is the central benefit.
