BENFEI Portable Monitor 15.6-inch

When a laptop screen feels cramped at a shared desk or in a hotel room, a second display can make it easier to keep reference material open while you work. The BENFEI portable monitor pairs a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS screen with a slim design and a protective cover that doubles as a stand, so it’s built to move between work and entertainment setups. Connect a compatible device over USB-C for display and power through one cable, or use the product’s HDMI connectivity. The main catch: USB-C video depends on your device supporting Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Type-C DP Alt Mode.

Getting the most from it

Use the monitor as an extended or second screen when you want a document, chat, or browser window beside your main display, copy mode mirrors what’s already on screen. Portrait mode offers another layout, while the cover-stand helps position the display on a desk or table. For a practical travel setup, open your laptop on a small hotel desk and keep notes on the portable screen instead of switching windows. For video or gaming, the listed HDR mode and built-in speakers add another way to use it beyond productivity.

Before packing it, think about the devices you actually plan to connect. The single-cable USB-C setup is convenient only when the host supports the required video standard, a USB-C port by itself doesn’t guarantee display output. The listing recommends the included USB-C cable for best performance. It describes the monitor as lightweight and ultra-slim, but doesn’t give its weight or full dimensions, so bag fit is difficult to judge without that measurement.

Why it’s worth it

This is a flexible option for people who want a larger workspace without committing to a permanent desk monitor. Its matte 1920×1080 IPS screen, 178° viewing angles, and blue-light reduction and flicker-free features are aimed at everyday work and longer viewing sessions. You’ll appreciate it if you often move between locations and want one display for documents, streaming, or compatible console play.

If you prioritize a simple, portable second screen, the cover-stand and multiple display modes are useful details. If you prefer a stationary monitor with fully specified dimensions and weight, this listing leaves more of the fit decision to you. It’s not for you if your planned USB-C device lacks DP Alt Mode or Thunderbolt 3 and you’re relying on that connection.

Key features

The display is a 15.6-inch, 1920×1080 IPS panel with a matte finish and HDR mode. The product lists two full-feature USB-C ports and plug-and-play use, with one USB-C cable able to carry power and the display signal when connected to a compatible device. Copy, extended, second-screen, and portrait modes cover different layouts. A scratch-resistant smart cover serves as a stand, and speakers are included. The listing also states an 18-month warranty.

The feature set is broad for a portable screen, but the connection requirement matters more than the mode count: check your device’s video-output support before choosing it. HDMI is named in the product description, though the listing doesn’t explain its setup in the same detail as USB-C.

Buying verdict

Choose the BENFEI if you want a portable Full HD screen for laptop work, travel, or entertainment and your device supports the connection you intend to use. The stand-cover and portrait mode make it more adaptable than a bare panel, while the slim, lightweight design is clearly meant for carrying. Skip it if you need confirmed physical measurements before buying or if your only planned connection is USB-C without the required video support.
