Speak No Evil 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray (Bilingual) with Dolby Vision

Presented on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, Speak No Evil pairs a tense horror story with a choice of home-video formats. When Americans Ben and Louise accept an invitation to spend a weekend at a country estate with their daughter, the hosts’ unsettling behaviour turns the family visit into a disturbing mystery. James McAvoy plays a charismatic host whose intentions gradually come into question, bringing a chilling edge to the film’s family-centred suspense.

The release includes Dolby Vision and HDR10, plus bonus features and a feature commentary with writer and director James Watkins. Its runtime is 1 hour and 50 minutes, making it a focused pick for an evening of psychological horror rather than a long series of instalments.

Highlights

The story builds from an apparently friendly invitation into a nightmare, using the contrast between an idyllic countryside setting and the hosts’ sinister motives to create unease. That premise gives viewers a clear thread to follow as Ben and Louise try to understand what is happening and protect their daughter. McAvoy’s role as a charming figure masking a darker side is central to the film’s unsettling tone.

Dolby Vision and HDR10 are included among the picture features. The combo release brings together 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray formats, while the listed audio options are English Dolby Atmos, English Dolby TrueHD 7.1 and Spanish Dolby Digital Plus 7.1. Bonus content includes “Nuclear Families,” “A Horrifying Crescendo” and “The Farmhouse of Horrors,” along with commentary from Watkins for viewers interested in the filmmaker’s perspective.

Customer feedback frequently highlights the suspense, the performances and McAvoy’s presence in particular. Viewers also mention the film’s unsettling scenes and end-of-story twist, making it a natural choice for horror fans who enjoy tension and a plot that keeps its intentions in question.

Usage tips

Choose the 4K Ultra HD or Blu-ray format that suits your home-video setup, and select from the listed audio tracks for your viewing. The Spanish track is Dolby Digital Plus 7.1, the English options are Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD 7.1. The release is rated Ages 14 and over in Canada, a useful guide when deciding whether it suits a household viewing plan.

For a bonus-feature viewing, the three featurettes offer additional material alongside the main film, while the commentary provides a way to revisit the story with insight from its writer-director. At 1 hour and 50 minutes, the film also fits readily into a standalone movie night. Its combination of a family-in-danger premise, a disturbing country-house setting and a suspense-driven reveal makes it suited to viewers looking for a contained horror thriller.

Practical tips

The bilingual release lists English and Spanish audio options, so check the track selection when starting playback if you have a preferred language. For the 4K presentation, use the 4K Ultra HD disc, the accompanying Blu-ray provides a separate format option within the same release. Dolby Vision and HDR10 are included as picture features, and the bonus material can add context after the main story without interrupting a first viewing.

Buying verdict

Speak No Evil is a strong fit for a horror collection centred on psychological tension, family peril and a cast-led performance. The 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray combination, Dolby Vision and HDR10 features, multiple listed audio tracks and filmmaker commentary give the release practical appeal for both a focused first watch and a return visit to its unsettling story.
