Serengeti II DVD – English-Language Wildlife Series, 6 Hours, 2 Discs

For viewers seeking English-language wildlife storytelling on DVD, Serengeti II follows the connected lives of animals in an African savannah setting. The series brings familiar characters and new arrivals into stories shaped by family life, changing relationships and the challenges of sharing a habitat.

Across six hours on two discs, the focus is on animal behaviour and unfolding drama, giving the story room to move between different characters and their experiences.

Everyday use

Serengeti II is a natural fit for an evening of wildlife viewing, whether you want to follow one story at a time or settle in for a longer watch. Rather than centring on a single animal or a succession of separate nature subjects, it connects the lives of several savannah animals. That approach gives viewers a clearer sense of how family ties, rivalries and new arrivals affect life in the same landscape.

The stories include Bakari the baboon navigating family life, Kali the lioness facing a difficult decision, and a leopard family adjusting to a new home. Their different circumstances bring humour, tenderness and tension into the viewing, while the shared setting keeps the individual stories connected. What makes the series engaging is how those varied animal lives sit together within one place.

Strengths

The six-hour runtime across two DVD-Video discs offers a substantial wildlife programme in a physical format, with English-language audio. The NTSC format is a useful detail to consider when choosing a DVD for your viewing setup. For someone deciding between a wildlife feature built around one subject and a series with several ongoing animal stories, Serengeti II offers the latter: a broader cast and relationships that develop across the programme.

The product is listed in colour as unknown, so this description focuses on its documented subject matter and format. Buyer feedback highlights the entertainment value and animal photography, with viewers describing the images positively. These are personal impressions, but they point to the series’ appeal for people drawn to wildlife footage as well as character-led storytelling.

Key takeaways

This is a two-disc, English-language DVD-Video release with a six-hour runtime, centred on interconnected stories of savannah animals. It can suit a wildlife-themed movie night, or provide a longer programme for viewers who enjoy following different animal families and their changing circumstances. The narrative emphasis also makes it a distinct choice from a conventional nature programme organized around habitats or species alone: here, the animals’ relationships and individual challenges are central.
