Abigail (2024) Limited Edition Steelbook, 4K UHD Horror Film

Horror fans looking for a vampire story with a heist premise can watch Abigail (2024) in a Limited Edition Steelbook edition on 4K UHD. A crew is hired to kidnap Abigail, the young daughter of a powerful underworld figure, and guard her in an isolated mansion for one night. The assignment takes a frightening turn as the captors discover that their prisoner is far from an ordinary child.

Starring Alisha Weir, Dan Stevens, Kevin Durand and Melissa Barrera, the film runs for 1 hour and 49 minutes. Its mix of suspense, horror and comedy gives movie night a lively change of pace from a straight-ahead vampire film.

The essentials

Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Abigail follows a group of kidnappers who expect a ransom job but find themselves trapped with a dangerous secret. The contrast between the crew’s plan and the mansion’s unsettling reality drives the story, making the setup easy to follow while leaving room for twists. The 4K UHD format and Limited Edition Steelbook presentation make this a physical edition for viewers choosing a disc release of the 2024 film.

Viewer feedback often points to the quirky plot, entertaining blend of horror and comedy, and the cast’s performances. Some viewers also highlight the film’s scares and gore, so its horror elements are a central part of the experience rather than a light backdrop to the humour. The listed rating is R (Restricted).

Tips for day-to-day use

For a movie night, set aside the full 1 hour and 49 minutes and choose the English audio format that suits your setup. The listed tracks are English DTS-HD 5.1, English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 and English Dolby Atmos. Use playback equipment that supports 4K UHD Blu-ray to watch this edition in its stated format. Having several English audio options gives viewers a choice between the listed sound formats when setting up a screening at home.

Getting the most from it

Abigail suits viewers who enjoy a contained thriller setting, vampire stories and horror that makes room for dark comedy. The mansion setting keeps the action focused on the hired crew and their captive, while the kidnapping-for-ransom setup provides a clear reason for the characters to stay together as events unfold. It works well as a feature-length pick for a horror double bill or a movie night centred on suspense with comic moments.

Compared with choosing a conventional vampire story built around familiar lore, this film puts a criminal crew and a kidnapping at the heart of the premise. That makes it a fitting choice for viewers after a genre film with a distinctive setup, an ensemble cast and a mix of scares and humour. The Steelbook edition also gives disc collectors a dedicated physical format for adding the film to a home collection.
