Dexter’s Laboratory: The Complete Series 883929822607 DVD, 12 Discs

The essentials

Settle in for a run of animated comedy with Dexter’s Laboratory: The Complete Series on DVD. This 12-disc collection brings together 29 hours and 51 minutes of the series. Dexter is a young inventor whose secret laboratory is a steady source of ambitious experiments and unexpected mishaps. His sister Dee Dee and rival Mandark keep adding complications to his plans.

The DVD-Video set is presented in English and rated PG. Its complete-series format suits viewers who want the show as a single collection, rather than building a watchlist around separate season releases. With the full runtime in one set, it’s easy to plan a longer viewing session or return to Dexter’s inventive world over several evenings. The mix of science-themed schemes, sibling trouble and rivalry gives the episodes a clear comic thread throughout the collection.

Getting the most from it

Use a DVD-Video playback setup to watch the discs, and choose a viewing pace that suits your household or collection. The full runtime makes this a natural pick for a dedicated marathon, while the 12-disc format also lets you spread the series across shorter sessions. Keep the discs together with your other animation favourites so the complete collection is easy to find when you’re ready to revisit Dexter’s experiments.

The show’s central setup makes it straightforward to dip into its animated comedy: Dexter creates inventions in a concealed, space-age laboratory connected to his room, while Dee Dee’s interruptions and Mandark’s attempts to outdo him derail the action. That recurring conflict gives the collection a familiar mix of invention, competition and comic chaos. English-language audio makes the presentation clear for viewers who prefer to watch the series in its listed language.

Usage tips

For a planned watch-through, set aside time across multiple sessions and keep track of where you leave off between discs. If you’re choosing something to watch with others, the PG rating provides a useful starting point for deciding whether the series suits your viewing group. The animated format and recurring characters also make the collection an easy choice when you want a light, science-flavoured comedy rather than a feature-length film.

This set is particularly suited to viewers who value having the complete series together, whether they’re discovering Dexter’s inventions for the first time or adding a familiar animated show to a DVD library. The premise remains easy to follow: a boy genius’s carefully planned creations meet the unpredictable energy of his sister and the competitive schemes of his rival. Those repeating character dynamics give the collection a consistent reason to keep watching.
