Product description
Key points
This four-disc Blu-ray box set brings together the complete seventh series of Doctor Who, with Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor. Across thirteen episodes and two specials, the Doctor travels with the Ponds and meets a new companion, Clara, in adventures that range from a dinosaur-filled spaceship and the Wild West to a Russian submarine and a confrontation with upgraded Cybermen. The set has an 11 hours and 45 minutes runtime and is presented in NTSC format.
The story moves from the Ponds’ final journey with the Doctor to the arrival of a new companion and revelations about the Doctor’s past. What makes this series appealing for a home collection? Its changing companions, familiar foes and varied settings give the episodes a lively mix of science fiction, mystery and character-focused storytelling.
Everyday use
As a Blu-ray box set, this edition brings the series together in one physical collection for a planned watch-through or a return to favourite episodes. The English-language presentation and four-disc format make it a straightforward choice for viewers looking to add this particular series to a Doctor Who shelf or share its adventures at home. Its listed content rating is PG.
The collection also includes more than the episodes and specials. Bonus material features behind-the-scenes featurettes for every Series 7 episode and “The Snowmen,” interviews with Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman, additional featurettes such as “Creating Clara” and “Last Days of the Ponds,” and audio commentaries for selected episodes. It also includes prequels and four Doctor Who specials: The Science of Doctor Who, Doctor Who in the US, The Companions and Doctor Who at Comic Con. That range offers fans a closer look at the production and the people and stories around the series.
Best use cases
This set suits viewers who want the complete seventh series in a single Blu-ray collection, especially fans following the Eleventh Doctor, the Ponds’ last adventures and Clara’s introduction. It also works well for a themed viewing session: the episodes shift between time periods, alien locations and familiar threats, while the specials and behind-the-scenes material provide additional viewing beyond the main story.
Buyers often describe the series as engaging and full of wonder, and praise the performances. Responses to Matt Smith’s portrayal and the set’s value are mixed, while some buyers mention concerns about the physical condition of their copy. Those impressions may help set expectations, but the main draw remains the complete series and its substantial selection of accompanying extras.
