Candyman (2021) 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray Horror Film with HDR10
Product description
Settle in for a horror film that turns a Chicago urban legend into a chilling story of art, history and escalating violence. Candyman follows an artist drawn to the dark past of Cabrini-Green, where a supernatural, hook-handed killer has haunted local stories for decades.
Directed by Nia DaCosta, the film stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and Colman Domingo. Its mix of mystery, suspense and horror gives a movie night a thoughtful, unsettling edge.
This edition brings together 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray formats, with HDR10 featured among the bonus content. It also includes an alternate ending, deleted and extended scenes, and featurettes that explore the film’s craft and themes.
Tips for day-to-day use
Make this a pick for an evening when you want more than a straightforward slasher story. The plot follows an artist as his research into Candyman’s history begins to affect his sanity and draws him into a wave of violence. That blend of urban legend, mystery and psychological horror gives viewers plenty to discuss after the credits.
The extras offer a natural next step for a second viewing. “The Filmmaker’s Eye: Nia DaCosta” and “Painting Chaos” focus on the creative approach, while “The Art of Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe” looks at the film’s artistic elements. For a closer look at its horror themes, the collection also includes “Body Horror,” “Terror in the Shadows” and “Candyman: The Impact of Black Horror.” Deleted and extended scenes and an alternate ending add further material for fans who want to explore beyond the main feature.

Pros
The combined 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray format suits collectors looking for both formats in one edition, rather than choosing a Blu-ray-only release. HDR10 is highlighted in the bonus content as a way to bring brighter, deeper and more lifelike colour to the picture. The extras also give this edition substance beyond the feature itself, with material on the filmmaking, visual art and Black horror.
The story’s connection to Cabrini-Green and its history gives the supernatural premise a specific setting and a deeper source of tension. With Nia DaCosta directing and Jordan Peele among the contributors, the film brings together a contemporary retelling, a cast led by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and an urban legend at its centre.
Should you buy it?
Choose this edition if you want Candyman as a physical home-video release and value having 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray formats together. It is especially well suited to horror fans who enjoy stories with mystery and social context, as well as viewers interested in how a film is made. The alternate ending, deleted and extended scenes, and focused featurettes make it a rewarding choice for anyone planning to revisit the film and spend time with its ideas after the main story.
