Persuasion & Mansfield Park 1000581366 DVD, Two Jane Austen Dramas
Product description
A single story can suit a focused movie night, this DVD brings two Jane Austen romances together for a longer viewing session. It’s a practical choice when you want both Persuasion and Mansfield Park in one collection.
Persuasion follows Anne Elliot’s unresolved love for Frederick Wentworth after years apart. Mansfield Park centres on Fanny Price, whose kindness and fortitude help her find her place in the Bertram household.
With three discs, English-language audio and a combined runtime of 6 hours and 45 minutes, the collection offers a substantial dose of Regency drama for a relaxed weekend or a Jane Austen double feature.
The essentials
This drama collection pairs two stories with different emotional journeys. In Persuasion, Anne must face the consequences of ending her engagement to Wentworth under family pressure. His return, now successful and admired, brings old feelings back into focus. Mansfield Park shifts to Fanny Price, brought into the Bertram family as a child. Despite being treated as an outsider, she earns a valued place through her steady character. Together, the films offer romance, family dynamics and the social tensions of their settings.
The set is presented on three DVD-Video discs in NTSC format, with English listed as the language and a General Audience (G) rating. For a viewer choosing between a collection of several dramas and a single-film release, this set offers two distinct Austen adaptations in one physical package. Set up a comfortable viewing session, choose one story for the evening or spread the full runtime across more than one sitting.
Size & fit
The product dimensions are 1.78 x 19.05 x 13.72 cm, with a listed weight of 81.65 g. Its compact physical format is easy to place with a DVD collection, while the three-disc presentation groups both titles together. The NTSC DVD-Video format is a key detail for selecting a suitable playback setup, the discs are intended for DVD viewing rather than being a digital-only edition.
Who it’s for
This collection suits Jane Austen readers and viewers drawn to period romance, character-led drama and stories shaped by family expectations. Persuasion brings a reflective second-chance romance, while Mansfield Park follows Fanny’s gradual recognition within a household that has long treated her differently. Having both on hand makes it easy to choose between two contrasting stories without switching to a separate title.
Some buyers describe the films as enjoyable romantic viewing, while others report playback problems and raise concerns about the accuracy of the cover advertising. Those differing comments are worth considering alongside the format details when choosing a physical DVD collection.
Should you buy it?
Choose this set if the appeal is having both Persuasion and Mansfield Park together, with their distinct Austen storylines and a combined runtime of 6 hours and 45 minutes. It’s suited to viewers who want a multi-disc DVD collection for a planned double feature, a longer weekend watch or a shelf of classic romantic drama. The two-title format is its clearest advantage: one collection covers Anne’s rekindled love and Fanny’s place in the Bertram family.
