Late Night With The Devil 0014381005530 DVD, NTSC Horror Thriller
Product description
For horror and thriller viewers drawn to eerie stories with a late-night setting, Late Night With The Devil brings a Halloween broadcast to DVD. The film centres on Jack Delroy, host of the talk show Night Owls, as he plans a special meant to revive the programme’s fortunes.
Set on October 31, 1977, the story turns a familiar TV format into the setting for a night that takes a sinister turn. David Dastmalchian leads the cast as Jack Delroy, with Laura Gordon and Ian Bliss also among the featured performers.
This DVD-Video edition is presented in NTSC format, with English audio and English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles. Its 1 hour and 26 minute runtime makes it a focused pick for a horror movie night.
How to use it
Put it on when you want a contained horror story built around a single TV broadcast rather than a more conventional setting. Jack’s role as a late-night host gives the plot a clear frame: an audience tunes in for a Halloween special, while events move beyond the show’s planned entertainment. That setup makes the film a natural choice for viewers who enjoy horror with a television-era atmosphere and a story that unfolds around a live programme.
The disc’s subtitle options also give viewers a choice of English SDH, French or Spanish text. English is the listed language. With a 1 hour and 26 minute runtime, it suits an evening watch without requiring a long commitment.
Where it shines
The premise gives the film a distinctive angle: instead of starting with an isolated haunted location or a group arriving in an unfamiliar place, it places the horror within a talk show’s Halloween broadcast. Jack is trying to win back viewers after a personal tragedy, and his plan for a memorable special sets the story in motion. The contrast between a familiar entertainment format and the threat it begins to reveal is central to the film’s appeal.
The late-1970s setting and broadcast premise also make this a fitting choice for viewers interested in horror with a period feel. In buyer feedback, viewers often highlight the intriguing story, unsettling atmosphere and performances, while some appreciate its nostalgic connection to 1970s horror. These impressions speak to the film’s appeal as a story-led, creepy watch rather than a standard talk-show comedy or a straightforward thriller.
