The Karate Kid 40th Anniversary 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital
Product description
The 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital edition brings The Karate Kid’s 40th anniversary release together across three viewing formats. The two-disc set pairs the film’s 4K Ultra HD presentation with a Blu-ray copy, while a digital version adds another way to revisit this coming-of-age martial arts drama.
Directed by John Avildsen and starring Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita, the film runs 2 hours and 7 minutes. English audio and English, French, Portuguese and Spanish subtitles support different viewing preferences.
Tips for day-to-day use
Choose the format that suits your movie night: enjoy the 4K Ultra HD edition on a compatible setup, use the Blu-ray disc for a Blu-ray viewing setup, or select the digital version for that format. Having 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray in one set makes it easy to choose between the two physical editions without buying them separately.
The film’s adventure, drama and martial arts elements make it a natural fit for a classic-movie night or a rewatch with family. Its 2-hour-and-7-minute runtime also gives you a clear idea of the time to set aside. English, French, Portuguese and Spanish subtitles let viewers follow along in their preferred listed subtitle language.
Benefits
This edition centres on the original film rather than a collection of unrelated titles. The anniversary release brings its 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray formats together, with a digital version included as another viewing option. That combination suits fans who want a physical copy in more than one format, as well as viewers looking to revisit a well-known coming-of-age story.
Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita lead the cast, with Elisabeth Shue, Martin Kove and William Zabka also featured. John Avildsen directs. For collectors, the anniversary edition offers a way to add the film to a home library, for a shared movie night, its youth-oriented story and martial arts subject matter provide an accessible starting point for viewers discovering it for the first time.
Worth noting
The package contains two discs, alongside the digital format named in the edition title. The listed subtitle choices are English, French, Portuguese and Spanish. Buyers often highlight the film’s nostalgic appeal and appreciate its 4K presentation, while feedback on playback is mixed. These comments reflect individual experiences rather than a guarantee of how a particular disc or player will perform.
Compared with choosing a single-format release, this set brings 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray together. That makes it a practical choice for viewers who want both physical formats in one edition, while the digital version offers an additional format for viewing.
