Topcolor Black Toner Cartridge TN850

The two-cartridge pack gives you a spare black toner cartridge on hand, which can be useful when a busy office printer runs low. It’s listed as compatible with TN-850 and TN-820, so the key decision is whether your Brother printer is among the supported models—not whether you need color toner.

Each cartridge is rated for up to 8,000 pages at 5% coverage on A4 paper. Actual yield can vary with what you print, so pages filled with dense text or graphics may use toner faster.

How to use it

This is replacement toner for compatible Brother monochrome laser printers. Before choosing it, match your printer’s model number against the compatibility list: the cartridge is listed for models including HL-L6200DW, HL-L5200DW, HL-L5100DN, MFC-L5800DW, MFC-L5700DW, MFC-L6700DW, MFC-L6800DW, and DCP-L5600DN. The full list also names several related models, including the HL-L6400DW and MFC-L6900DW.

Picture a shared office printer being used for invoices and everyday paperwork: having the second cartridge in the package means a replacement is already available when the first runs out. Need color output or a cartridge for a model outside the listed range? This black, model-specific option is not designed to cover those needs. It’s a compatible replacement, rather than a Brother-branded cartridge.

Pros

• Two black toner cartridges are included, so the pack provides a spare for a later replacement.
• TN-850 and TN-820 compatibility gives buyers two cartridge designations to check against their printer requirements.
• The stated yield is up to 8,000 pages per cartridge at 5% A4 coverage, which may suit regular document printing.
• A broad list of supported HL, MFC, and DCP models makes it easier to check whether an existing Brother printer is covered.

It’s a great fit if you print mostly black-and-white documents and your exact printer model appears in the compatibility list. Better avoided if your printer is not listed, you need color toner, or you specifically want a Brother-branded cartridge. On the spec sheet, the yield is a stated maximum under a defined coverage condition, not a guarantee of the same page count for every print job.

Is it worth it?

This pack makes the most sense when your printer is confirmed compatible and you want two black replacements rather than a single cartridge. The high stated yield may be useful for routine office documents, but coverage matters: a page of mostly text is a different workload from one with large, dark graphics. That distinction is worth keeping in mind when comparing it with a lower-yield option or buying only one replacement.

The deciding check is your printer’s full model number. If it matches the listed models and black toner is all you need, the two-cartridge format offers a practical backup. If compatibility is uncertain or you prefer an original Brother cartridge, this listing does not establish that it will meet those preferences.
