TRUE IMAGE Black Toner Cartridge, 2-Pack

Running low on black toner can interrupt routine printing right when a document is needed. This compatible TRUE IMAGE pack includes two black cartridges for listed Brother laser printer models.

It’s intended for everyday documents such as forms, letters, and schoolwork. The main practical draw is having a second cartridge ready when the first runs out.

If you prioritize a compatible replacement and a two-cartridge supply, this pack follows that approach, if you prefer a manufacturer-branded cartridge, you may want to shop that category instead.

Where it shines

The cartridges are listed for Brother printers including the DCP-L2640DW, HL-L2460DW, HL-L2405W, HL-L2420DW, HL-L2465DW, HL-L2480DW, MFC-L2760DW, and MFC-L2820DW. The compatibility list also names models such as the HL-L2865DW and MFC-L2980DW, so this may suit a home office or small workspace that prints black-and-white documents regularly.

For example, you could keep one cartridge installed for work forms and routine correspondence, then store the second as a replacement instead of stopping to order another as soon as toner runs low. It’s a great fit if your exact printer appears in the stated compatibility list and you want two compatible black cartridges in one pack.

What matters most

The listing states a yield of up to 3,000 pages per TN-830XL cartridge, based on Letter/A4 pages at 5% coverage. That figure is a reference, not a guarantee for every print job: pages with heavier graphics or large areas of dark text can use toner differently. Without that measurement, treat the stated yield as an estimate rather than a promise.

This is a compatible cartridge, not a claim that it is a Brother-branded supply. The listing describes the intended output as clear black printing, but it does not provide independent print tests or more detail about performance across different documents. Match your printer’s full model number to the compatibility list before choosing, similar model names do not establish compatibility on their own.

Best use cases

The two-cartridge format makes most sense when you expect to keep printing with a compatible listed printer and would rather have a spare on hand. It may be useful for routine letters, forms, and other black-and-white pages, rather than for someone specifically seeking color printing. Compared with buying one cartridge at a time, this pack provides a second replacement in the same purchase, compared with choosing a manufacturer-branded supply, it is the compatible-cartridge route.

It may not suit you if your printer model is absent from the list, or if you specifically want a manufacturer-branded cartridge. Actual page yield will also depend on the material you print, so a graphics-heavy workload may not match the stated coverage-based figure.

Should you buy it?

Consider this TRUE IMAGE pack if your Brother model is explicitly listed, you need black toner, and having two compatible cartridges available fits your printing routine. Skip it if you need color, want a manufacturer-branded supply, or cannot confirm your printer model against the listed compatibility information. The useful decision point is not just the advertised page count: it is whether the compatible format and listed models match the way you print.
