The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 DVD (AMC00572DVD), 8 Episodes

For viewers who want Maggie and Negan’s story to continue in a complete season set, The Walking Dead: Dead City: Season 2 brings their uneasy partnership into a dangerous Manhattan. The eight episodes follow the pair as they search for Maggie’s kidnapped son, Hershel, in a city overrun by walkers and shaped by its own post-apocalyptic communities.

The English-language widescreen DVD presents the season across two discs, with an approximately eight-hour runtime. That gives you a focused way to follow the story at home, episode by episode.

Getting the most from it

The season’s central tension comes from Maggie and Negan having to set aside their bitter history as they venture deeper into Manhattan. The city has been cut off from the mainland, and its crumbling streets are home to both the dead and people who have built a dangerous world of their own. This setting gives the search for Hershel a clear purpose while keeping the threat present throughout the journey.

With eight episodes collected across two discs, the set suits a planned evening of watching one episode at a time or settling into several episodes in sequence. The widescreen presentation supports the series’ urban setting, while the English soundtrack keeps the performances and dialogue in their original language. The DVD is rated R.

Why it’s worth it

This release brings the full eight-episode season together in a physical format, rather than treating each installment as a separate viewing choice. That makes it a practical fit for viewers building a DVD collection or looking to follow one continuous story arc. Maggie and Negan’s uneasy alliance, the search for Hershel, and Manhattan’s distinct post-apocalyptic environment give the season a defined focus beyond a string of isolated encounters.

Customer feedback is positive about the suspenseful storyline and entertainment, and some viewers especially enjoy how the Manhattan setting draws them into the chaos. Buyers also report that the DVDs play well. Reactions to the level of drama and character development are more mixed, so the strongest appeal is the tense setting and the continuing story around Maggie and Negan.

What matters most

The season is built around a specific mission: Maggie and Negan enter walker-infested Manhattan to find Hershel. Their difficult history adds friction to the journey, while the city’s separated, crumbling environment creates a setting where both walkers and human communities pose a threat. For viewers who enjoy character-driven survival stories, that combination offers a clear reason to stay with the season from episode to episode.

You’ll appreciate it if you want the story collected in one DVD set, prefer watching a season in sequence, or are following the characters played by Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The supporting cast includes Mahina Napoleon, Gaius Charles, Željko Ivanek, and others. Compared with choosing individual episodes as you go, this two-disc season set keeps all eight installments together for a more continuous watch.

Is it worth it?

For fans interested in Maggie and Negan’s next chapter, this DVD set brings together the complete eight-episode season, an English soundtrack, and the distinctive backdrop of an isolated Manhattan. Its strongest draw is the focused search for Hershel, carried through a city where danger comes from both walkers and the people who have made the ruins their own. It’s a fitting pick for viewers who want a physical copy of the season and a continuous way to follow its tense, post-apocalyptic storyline.
