The Originals: The Complete Series DVD Set, 21 Discs, All Five Seasons

A 21-disc DVD collection brings all five seasons of The Originals together, making it easy to follow the Mikaelson family’s full story in one set. With 61 hours and 20 minutes of English-language episodes in NTSC format, it’s suited to viewers who want an extended supernatural drama ready for a weekend watch or a season-by-season rewatch.

Set in New Orleans, the series follows Elijah, Rebekah, and Klaus as they return to the French Quarter and face a struggle for control involving vampires, witches, and werewolves.

What matters most

This complete-series edition gathers the full five-season run in one DVD set rather than requiring you to track down each season separately. That makes it a practical choice for watching the story in sequence, from the family’s return to New Orleans through the conflicts that shape the Mikaelson legacy. The 21 discs contain 61 hours and 20 minutes of programming, giving the collection substantial scope for extended viewing.

The story combines family loyalty and rivalry with supernatural power struggles. Klaus’s former protégé, Marcel Gerard, holds influence in the city, while witches, werewolves, and vampires all have interests in what happens next. Those overlapping conflicts give the series room to move between personal relationships, shifting alliances, and ongoing suspense. The set is rated NR and the program language is English. Its NTSC DVD format is a useful playback detail when choosing a compatible DVD setup.

Viewers often praise the continuing storyline and the appeal of watching multiple episodes in a row, and some appreciate having every season in one collection. Reports about disc condition and playback are mixed: some buyers describe discs that work well, while others report damaged discs or playback problems. These comments reflect differing experiences with individual copies, not a guaranteed outcome.

Everyday use

The DVD format works well for planned viewing at home: choose an episode, continue through a season, or return to a favorite part of the family saga. With the seasons collected together, it’s straightforward to keep the larger story moving without switching between separate season purchases. English-language presentation also makes the viewing format clear for households looking for the series in its original language.

For a relaxed viewing night, the collection can support a short episode session, for a longer stretch, its complete-season coverage makes it possible to follow the unfolding story across consecutive episodes. The five-season set is the more direct fit for viewers seeking the full run, while an individual season is a more focused choice for someone interested in only part of the story.

Best use cases

Choose this set to watch The Originals from its New Orleans opening through all five seasons, revisit the Mikaelson family’s changing alliances, or keep a complete series on hand for future rewatches. Its substantial runtime suits viewers who enjoy settling into a continuing plot rather than starting a new, unrelated title each time. The mix of family drama, vampires, witches, and werewolves also gives the series a clear supernatural focus for an at-home TV lineup.

The collection is especially useful when the goal is continuity: the central conflicts build across the series, so having the seasons together makes it easier to follow the characters and their rivalries in order. As a DVD set, it’s also a physical-format option for viewers who prefer owning a series collection rather than assembling the seasons individually.

Final verdict

The Originals: The Complete Series is a convenient way to get all five seasons in one 21-disc DVD collection. Its English-language NTSC presentation and extensive runtime make it a fitting pick for fans ready to follow the Mikaelson saga from beginning to end, or return to New Orleans for another full-series watch.
