Black Phone 2-Movie Collection DVD: Two Blumhouse Horror Thrillers

A single suspense story makes for a focused movie night, a two-film set gives you room to stay with the same unsettling world for longer. The Black Phone 2-Movie Collection brings The Black Phone and Black Phone 2 together on DVD, pairing both thrillers in one set with bonus features for viewers who enjoy exploring how a film was made.

The stories follow Finn, a kidnapped boy facing a sadistic killer known as the Grabber, and his sister Gwen, whose haunting visions draw her into a dangerous family connection. Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, and other cast members appear across the collection. With a combined runtime of 3 hours and 38 minutes, it works as a double feature when you want two connected horror stories rather than a standalone movie.

Key features

This collection includes both The Black Phone and Black Phone 2 on DVD. The shared characters and continuing threat give the films a connected arc: Finn’s encounter with the Grabber is followed by a new danger centered on Gwen and her visions. That makes the set a natural choice for viewers who want to watch the stories together and follow the family link that ties them together.

The discs also offer a substantial selection of bonus material. The Black Phone disc includes deleted scenes, an Ethan Hawke featurette, behind-the-scenes material, design and set features, a short film by director Scott Derrickson, and feature commentary from Derrickson. Black Phone 2 adds cast and story features, along with feature commentary by Derrickson. These extras give fans a way to spend more time with the cast, creative choices, and production after the films.

How to use it

Plan for the full 3-hour-and-38-minute runtime if you intend to watch both films in one sitting, or enjoy them as separate movie nights. The format is DVD, and the audio options include English and Spanish in Dolby Digital 5.1. The collection is rated R (Restricted), a useful detail when choosing a film night for a household or group.

For a more complete viewing session, the bonus features offer a natural follow-up after each film. Commentary from Scott Derrickson and the behind-the-scenes segments are especially relevant to viewers interested in the direction, cast, and filmmaking details, while deleted scenes and the short film add other viewing options beyond the main features.

Everyday use

This set suits a weekend double feature, a horror-themed gathering, or a home collection focused on suspense and supernatural stories. The two-film format keeps the related titles together, while the extras make the discs useful beyond a single watch. If you’re choosing between one compact movie night and a longer connected story, this collection is built around the latter.

Buyers describe both films positively overall, with some calling them entertaining. Reactions to the horror itself are mixed: some find it intense and effective, while others describe it as creepy. That range is worth considering when choosing a film for a group with different comfort levels for frightening scenes.

Should you buy it?

Choose the Black Phone 2-Movie Collection if you want both films on DVD, appreciate a continuing horror story, and enjoy extras such as commentary and behind-the-scenes features. Its combined runtime gives you a ready-made double feature, while the cast and production material offer more to explore after the credits. It’s a practical fit for viewers who want the two connected thrillers together rather than selecting just one.
