Halloween (2018) D61199935D DVD, NTSC, Jamie Lee Curtis
Product description
On NTSC DVD, Halloween (2018) brings Jamie Lee Curtis back as Laurie Strode for a new confrontation with Michael Myers. The story returns to Haddonfield, four decades after Laurie escaped his Halloween-night killing spree. What happens when the past catches up with her family? English and Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, plus French and Spanish subtitles, make this edition ready for a suspense-focused movie night.
The essentials
Laurie has spent years preparing for Michael’s return, while her daughter Karen has tried to build a life apart from her mother’s fears. Laurie’s granddaughter Allyson is caught between them as the family faces the threat together. That family dynamic gives the story more than a return to the masked killer: it places three generations at the center of the suspense.
David Gordon Green directs, with Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, and Virginia Gardner among the cast. The movie runs 1 hour and 46 minutes and is rated R (Restricted). Bonus features include deleted and extended scenes, a making-of feature, segments on the original scream queen and the sound of fear, and looks at the mask and the film’s legacy. These extras offer additional material for viewers interested in the production and the series’ history.
The disc format and language options are useful details when choosing a physical copy for a home collection or a planned movie night. Customers’ reactions are positive about the film’s connection to the original and its atmosphere, while opinions on the story and entertainment value are mixed. That makes this edition especially appealing to viewers drawn to the returning characters and the series’ suspense, rather than someone choosing a movie solely for an unpredictable plot.
Best use cases
This DVD suits a Halloween-season watch, a horror double feature with the 1978 film, or a collection focused on Laurie Strode and Michael Myers. Its 1-hour-and-46-minute runtime gives a movie night a defined feature-length centerpiece, and the bonus content can extend the viewing for fans who want to explore how the film was made. Choose it over a standalone horror title when revisiting the Haddonfield story and the characters’ history is part of the appeal.
The English and Spanish audio tracks provide two listening options, while French and Spanish subtitles support viewers who prefer subtitles. The DVD is also a practical fit for collectors who want this 2018 continuation in physical-disc format, rather than a digital-only edition.
