The Purge: 5-Movie Collection DVD Box Set with Bonus Features

Set up a movie night around the complete Purge saga with this five-film DVD collection. It brings the series together in one box set, making it easy to follow its dystopian story of an annual night of legalized crime and the people caught in its violence.

The collection includes The Purge, The Purge: Anarchy, The Purge: Election Year, The First Purge, and The Forever Purge. The films are in English, in NTSC DVD format, with a combined runtime of 8 hours and 21 minutes.

Bonus material adds behind-the-scenes features, deleted scenes, a character spotlight, an alternate opening storyboard sequence, and a theatrical trailer. The set is rated R for restricted audiences.

Key takeaways

This box set gathers all five films in one place, so viewers can revisit the franchise as a connected collection rather than assemble the titles individually. Its five-disc format also makes it straightforward to choose a specific entry for a movie night or continue through the series over several evenings.

The bonus content gives fans more to explore beyond the films. Features include making-of material for The Purge, behind-the-scenes coverage of Anarchy, deleted scenes from Election Year and The First Purge, and extras focused on the story, characters, masks, and wardrobe. The Forever Purge disc adds an alternate opening storyboard sequence and a theatrical trailer.

Buyers often appreciate having the complete collection together and describe the films as entertaining and worth revisiting. Feedback on disc playback is mixed, with some purchasers reporting an issue with the Election Year disc. Opinions also vary on the plots and graphic violence, so the R rating is useful context when choosing who will watch.

Getting the most from it

Use a DVD player that supports NTSC discs, then choose an individual film or watch the five entries in sequence. The English-language presentation and shared format keep the set consistent for a home collection. With a combined runtime of 8 hours and 21 minutes, it can suit a marathon viewing plan or be spread across multiple nights.

For the added material, select the bonus features on each disc after the film. The extras vary by entry, so the set offers different behind-the-scenes angles across the franchise rather than repeating one feature across all five discs. Deleted scenes and the character spotlight offer additional material connected to specific films, while the making-of segments explore production and visual elements such as the masks and wardrobe.

Best use cases

This collection works well for fans who want the full series on DVD, households building a horror and thriller shelf, or viewers planning a themed movie night. It is also a practical alternative to tracking down each film separately when the goal is to keep the five entries together in one set. The franchise’s central premise links the films, while the individual bonus selections give each disc its own extras.

The story features violent situations and anarchic upheaval, in keeping with its R rating. That makes the set most suitable for adult viewers who enjoy horror, suspense, and dystopian thrillers. A solid pick if you want the complete Purge film series in one DVD box set, with extra features to explore after the movies.

Is it worth it?

For viewers who want all five Purge films together, this set delivers a clear benefit: one DVD collection covers the full series and includes bonus material across its discs. The English-language NTSC format, 8-hour-and-21-minute combined runtime, and varied behind-the-scenes extras make it suited to both a franchise rewatch and a growing physical movie library. Its R rating also helps set expectations for the violent horror and suspense content.
