The Last Voyage of the Demeter yydscgxspj0016 Collector's Edition DVD
Product description
A late-night horror movie session gets a tense maritime setting with The Last Voyage of the Demeter, a Dracula story centered on a doomed voyage from Carpathia to London.
Rather than retelling the vampire legend across its full scope, the film adapts one chilling chapter from Bram Stoker’s novel. The ship’s isolated setting keeps the crew’s growing fear at the center of the story.
This Collector’s Edition DVD pairs the feature with bonus material, including deleted scenes, an alternate opening, and a feature commentary. It offers a focused way to revisit the film and explore its production.

The film follows a merchant ship carrying 50 mysterious wooden crates. As the crew discovers a hidden passenger stalking them at night, the voyage becomes a contained horror story built around suspense and the threat onboard. That shipboard premise gives this Dracula adaptation a different focus from versions that follow the broader legend from end to end: the danger unfolds within the crew’s confined journey.
The listed English and Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 audio options and French and Spanish subtitles give viewers language choices for a home screening. The DVD format suits collectors who want a physical edition, while its feature commentary and behind-the-scenes selections add context beyond the movie itself.
Best use cases
This edition fits a horror movie night for viewers drawn to vampire stories, tense settings, and a fresh angle on Dracula. It also works for fans of Bram Stoker’s novel who want to see a single chapter expanded into a feature about the crew and their perilous passage. If you’re choosing between a broad Dracula retelling and a more contained story, this one keeps its attention on the ship’s voyage and the threat traveling with it.
The bonus features make the disc useful for a second viewing, too. Deleted scenes and the alternate opening offer additional material from the film, while “From the Pits of Hell: Dracula Reimagined,” “Evil is Aboard: The Making of The Last Voyage of the Demeter,” and “Dracula & the Digital Age” explore its approach and production. The feature commentary includes director André Øvredal and producer Bradley J. Fischer.
Customer feedback often highlights the suspense, jump scares, performances, and distinctive take on Dracula lore. Some viewers say they would return to the movie, while others find it less memorable, so reactions to its lasting appeal vary.
What’s included
The Collector’s Edition contains the feature film on DVD and bonus content: an alternate opening, deleted scenes, three featurettes, and a feature commentary with director André Øvredal and producer Bradley J. Fischer. The featurettes cover Dracula’s reimagining, the making of the film, and Dracula in the digital age, giving fans several ways to explore the movie’s creative approach after the credits.
Final verdict
For horror fans who want Dracula’s legend told through a confined sea voyage, this Collector’s Edition offers a clear point of difference: a crew under threat, a tense shipboard setting, and bonus material that extends the experience beyond the feature. It’s especially suited to viewers who enjoy suspense-led vampire stories and collectors looking for a DVD edition with commentary and behind-the-scenes content.
