TechniSat Streamstore 24 2.5-Inch USB 3.2 External Hard Drive, 1TB

The 1TB capacity gives the TechniSat Streamstore 24 room for TV recordings, videos, music and other files, while its external 2.5-inch format keeps it suited to use with a laptop or at home beside a compatible TV or receiver. An LED display is included, and the drive connects over USB.

It is a straightforward choice for adding storage without installing an internal drive.

Usage tips

Use the supplied 40 cm USB Type-A cable to connect the drive to a compatible laptop, computer, TV or receiver. The product details specifically mention recordings from TechniSat TVs and receivers, as well as Windows 8 or later (32-bit or 64-bit) and MacOS X 10.x or later for computer use. If your main task is recording television, check that your particular TV or receiver supports external USB storage, the general compatibility list does not confirm every model.

For everyday use, the 1TB space can hold a mixture of recordings and media files, or be kept for one main purpose so it is easier to manage. Its compact 2.5-inch form makes it a practical alternative to choosing a larger desktop-style drive when you want external storage for a laptop or media setup. The supplied details describe a mechanical hard drive, so this is a storage-focused option rather than a small flash drive for occasional file transfers.

Pros

The main advantage is having 1TB in a single external drive, with support listed for both computer storage and recording from TechniSat televisions and receivers. The casing includes an internal suspension intended to provide extra protection if the drive is shaken, including in a fall. That is a useful design detail, although it should not be treated as a guarantee against damage.

The package includes the USB cable and an instruction manual. Its compact footprint and simple cable connection also suit a setup where the drive may be moved between a computer and a compatible television or receiver. It’s a good fit if you want one drive for recordings and general file storage rather than a small-capacity device for just a few files.

Key points

Capacity is 1TB (also stated as 1000GB), and the drive has a 2.5-inch form factor, a black finish and an LED display. The product information names a USB 3.2 Gen 1x1 interface, while the specification table lists the hard disk interface as USB 3.0. It also quotes transfer rates of up to 5 GB/s, because the interface descriptions differ across the listing, treat those connection details with care when comparing specifications.

Dimensions are listed as 7.7 x 2 x 12.6 cm. The supplied cable is 40 cm long and uses Type A. These details help when planning where to place the drive, particularly beside a television or receiver. No extra cable length or alternative connector is specified.

Should you buy it?

Choose the Streamstore 24 if you need a single external 1TB drive for compatible TechniSat recording equipment as well as everyday computer files. It might not be a great match if your storage requirement exceeds its stated 1TB capacity. For a setup built around a particular TV or receiver, compatibility with that exact device is the key point to establish before buying, for general laptop storage, its listed Windows and MacOS support makes the intended use clearer.
