Elgato Wave Mic Arm Pro White: Low-Profile Gas-Spring Microphone Arm

For broadcasting, podcasting or streaming, a microphone arm needs to keep the mic within reach without taking over the desk. The Elgato Wave Mic Arm Pro White is designed for that setup, with a low-profile, foldaway shape and gas-spring suspension for smooth, quiet repositioning.

If you need a simple fixed stand, this offers more flexibility, if you regularly move a microphone out of the way between sessions, its folding design is the more relevant feature.

Strengths

The arm supports up to 3 kg, including accessories, and its all-metal construction is intended for a substantial desk-mounted setup. The gas spring allows adjustments without loosening screws, while hidden cable channels and magnetic covers help keep the microphone cable out of sight. A padded clamp secures it to desks up to 60 mm thick.

Its low-profile position is useful when a raised arm would obstruct your view. Swing it towards you for a recording or streaming session, then fold it aside to clear the work area. The white finish may also suit a lighter desk setup, though appearance is a matter of preference.

Key takeaways

This is an adjustable arm rather than a basic stand: its appeal lies in repositioning, keeping cables tucked away and freeing desk space when the mic is not in use. The stated load limit includes accessories, so consider the combined weight of the microphone and anything attached to it.

Buyer feedback often highlights the solid feel, adjustability, appearance and straightforward assembly. Views on value are mixed, however, with some buyers considering it worthwhile and others finding it expensive. That makes the useful question less about appearance alone and more about whether the arm’s movement and cable management suit your everyday setup.

Who it’s for

It suits you if you record, broadcast or stream at a desk and want to bring a microphone into position, then move it away without dismantling the setup. The product description lists compatibility with a wide range of brands, including Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, HyperX, Rode, Shure and Neumann, the product name also mentions models such as the Shure SM7B, HyperX QuadCast and Blue Yeti.

The clamp is specified for desks up to 60 mm thick, which is an important fit requirement. It’s not for you if your desk exceeds that thickness. If you prioritise a simple, stationary microphone support over an adjustable arm, this design may offer features you do not need.

Practical questions

How much weight can it support? It supports up to 3 kg, including accessories. Account for the full microphone setup rather than the microphone alone.

Will it fit my desk? The padded clamp is designed for desks up to 60 mm thick. The available information does not specify other mounting arrangements.

Does it help keep the workspace tidy? Yes. The arm has hidden cable channels with magnetic covers, and its foldaway design lets you move it aside when the microphone is not in use.

Buying verdict

The Elgato Wave Mic Arm Pro White makes most sense when a desk setup benefits from easy, quiet microphone repositioning, concealed cable routing and a low-profile arm. Its 3 kg capacity and stated desk-thickness limit give you practical points to check against your equipment and workspace. For a setup that stays in one position, a simpler stand may be enough, for regular recording or streaming where desk space matters, the adjustability is the main reason to consider it.
