PLAYMOBIL myLife 71450 Researcher with Robots Toy Set with Drone, 67 Pieces

Some playsets centre on a ready-made scene, this one gives children a laboratory celebration to build into their own stories. The PLAYMOBIL myLife 71450 brings together a researcher, three robots and a drone, with accessories for a science-themed birthday. The drone’s rotating rotor blades and included remote control add an interactive element to imaginative play. With 67 pieces, there are plenty of details to arrange and revisit.

Getting the most from it

Set up the laboratory with the shelf, test tubes and funnel, then let the researcher and robots take charge of the party. Children can send the drone carrying the cake, while the smaller robots bring muffins into the scene. That mix of research equipment and birthday accessories makes it easy to move between role-play and playful invention, rather than following just one storyline.

The drone has rotating rotor blades and is controlled by the included remote control. The robot’s arms move at the shoulders and its hands turn in different directions, it can also alternate between standing and sitting. These moving parts give children simple ways to change the action as they play. For a shared play session, one child can organise the laboratory while another controls the drone or gives the robots a new task. The set is suitable for children aged 4 and over, it contains small parts and is not suitable for children under 3.

What stands out

The appeal is in the combination of hands-on features and open-ended storytelling. The drone’s remote control gives children an active role in the scene, while the robot’s movable arms and changeable positions make it easy to give each character a different part to play. The test tubes, funnel and headset establish a research setting, the cake, balloon and muffin-carrying robots turn it into a celebration. Together, these details help children create a story that can change from one play session to the next.

If the aim is a single display scene, a simpler figure set may suit that approach. This set is more suited to children who enjoy mixing characters, moving accessories and inventing what happens next. Its 67 pieces offer a range of small props for setting up the laboratory, acting out the party and rearranging the scene. The parts can be cleaned under running water, without chemical agents, this cleaning instruction applies to pieces without stickers.

Is it worth it?

For children drawn to robots, science and pretend play, the 71450 offers a clear theme with several ways to get involved: control the drone, reposition the robot or build a new laboratory-party story around the accessories. It works particularly well as a gift for a child aged 4 or over who likes interactive details as much as character-led play. The combination of a remote-controlled drone and movable robot gives the set a distinctive role in imaginative play, while the researcher and laboratory accessories keep the story grounded in discovery.
