PLAYMOBIL Magic Unicorns 71839 Magical Unicorn Stable, Mum and Foal, 66 Pieces

A leaf-roofed stable gives the unicorn mum and her foal a setting for gentle care-and-feeding stories. The PLAYMOBIL Magic Unicorns 71839 set has 66 pieces, including figures and accessories to help children create small scenes. It is named for children from 4 years. The play centres on imaginative storytelling rather than a powered or electronic feature set.

What you’ll notice day to day

The stable brings several simple activities together: a fairy cares for the unicorns, while a joyling helps feed the foal with a milk bottle. A bucket of water adds another detail to the story, and the natural leaf roof gives the shelter a clear fairytale look. What might a child do with the set after the first story? The figures and accessories leave room to invent different care routines and repeat them in their own way.

This is a compact playset in its stated dimensions of 24.8 x 18.7 x 7.2 centimetres, with a listed weight of 0.36 kilograms. That gives a useful sense of the space it may take up when planning a play area or storage spot. Its multicoloured plastic pieces are designed around a unicorn theme, rather than open-ended construction or a large play environment.

What matters most

The appeal is in the small cast and the specific scene: a mum unicorn, her foal, a fairy and a joyling, with feeding and care accessories. It offers more story prompts than a basic pair of figures, but it is still focused on one magical stable setting. It makes sense if the child enjoys fairies, unicorns and nurturing role-play, a larger, more open-ended toy would be a different choice for someone looking for space to build varied settings.

The 66-piece count gives the play several components to arrange, though the listing does not break down how many pieces are figures versus accessories. The product is described as plastic, and no further material details are provided. The instructions are stated to be in French, which is worth bearing in mind if an adult expects written guidance in English for setting up or playing with the set.

Practical tips

Before choosing a place for play, use the listed dimensions as a guide to the stable’s footprint. Keeping the small accessories together after play may also make it easier to return to the same care-and-feeding stories later. The product information does not specify cleaning instructions, so avoid assuming a particular care method beyond what comes with the set.

Questions before you buy

Is this set intended for young children? The product name describes it for children from 4 years, and the play is based on figures and imaginative scenes.

What kind of play does it support? The fairy, unicorn mum and foal, joyling, milk bottle and water bucket provide prompts for caring, feeding and making up stable stories.

Are the instructions in English? The listing says the play and installation instructions are in French. It may not suit you if English instructions are essential to your purchase.

Buying verdict

This set is best suited to a child who will enjoy a ready-made unicorn scene and gentle role-play, rather than a toy intended mainly for building or broad, interchangeable play. Its figures and care accessories give the stable a clear purpose, while the stated dimensions help with planning where it can be used. The French instructions are the main practical detail to weigh up before buying, if that is not an issue and the theme appeals, the focused story setup is the reason to choose it.
