The high-bandwidth connection supports DSC, FEC, Dynamic HDR and HDCP 2.2/1.4. These features help carry detailed video and supported content to a DisplayPort screen. The cable is intended for a direct connection, rather than for converting to HDMI, VGA or DVI. A USB-C port used only for charging or data transfer does not provide the video output this cable requires.

Tips for day-to-day use

Connect the USB-C end to a compatible laptop, tablet or phone, then connect the DisplayPort end to the monitor. This direct setup suits a home office where a laptop needs a larger screen, or a gaming desk where a compatible source and display can make use of higher resolution and refresh-rate modes. It can also keep a monitor connection simple when using a compatible MacBook or other Thunderbolt 3/4 device.

The product information lists devices including MacBook Pro and Air, iPad Pro, Dell XPS, Samsung Galaxy S23/S22 and Odyssey G8/G9 monitors. The key check is that the USB-C port supports video output through DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt 3/4. Buyers commonly praise the straightforward plug-and-play connection, including with MacBook and Mac mini devices, and report satisfaction with picture quality and refresh rates. These experiences depend on the capabilities of the connected devices.

For a DisplayPort monitor, this cable provides a direct USB-C connection without adding a multiport dock to the setup. That makes it a focused option when the goal is simply to connect a compatible USB-C device to a DisplayPort screen.

What’s included

The package contains one Silkland USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable.
