Silkland S1334 DisplayPort 2.1 Cable, VESA-Certified DP80, 80Gbps, 6.6 ft

A standard monitor connection and a high-refresh gaming setup call for different levels of bandwidth. The Silkland S1334 is a VESA-certified DP80 cable rated for 80Gbps. Its 6.6 ft length connects a DisplayPort-equipped computer or graphics card to a monitor.

Quick overview

This DisplayPort 2.1 cable is built for demanding video and gaming configurations. Product specifications list uncompressed support for 4K at 240Hz, 8K at 60Hz and 2K at 540Hz. With DSC enabled, listed modes include up to 16K at 60Hz, 8K at 240Hz and 4K at 540Hz. The source device, monitor and settings must support the selected resolution, refresh rate and DSC mode.

For gaming, it supports VRR, ALLM, FEC and DSC 1.2a, along with MST for multi-monitor setups. HDR10+ and HDCP 2.3 support, plus uncompressed audio pass-through in 7.1, 5.1 or 2.0 formats, make it suitable for a combined video-and-audio connection. It is also backward compatible with DisplayPort 2.0 and 1.4, so it can connect with equipment using those standards while operating according to the capabilities of the connected devices.

Usage tips

Use the male-to-male connectors to connect the DisplayPort output on a computer or graphics card directly to a DisplayPort monitor. At 6.6 ft, the cable provides room to position a gaming PC beside or under a desk while keeping the monitor connection straightforward. The plug-and-play design has no latch, making the connector simple to insert and remove.

A grey nylon exterior surrounds 28AWG tinned copper conductors, with triple shielding and 24K gold-plated connectors. These construction details support a durable cable design for a fixed desktop connection. For a multi-monitor arrangement, MST is supported, the connected graphics hardware and displays also need to support the intended setup.

Tips for day-to-day use

For a high-refresh display, connect the cable at both ends and select a resolution and refresh rate supported by the computer and monitor. Enable DSC when using a listed mode that requires it, and use the display’s HDR or variable refresh settings when those features are supported by the rest of the setup. The cable also supports G-Sync and FreeSync, subject to compatible connected equipment.

Buyers have praised the bandwidth for high-refresh use and described the connectors as solid. Feedback is not entirely uniform: some report flickering or black screens, and opinions on value differ. Keeping the cable securely connected and setting the display to a mode supported by the full system helps make the intended DisplayPort configuration clear.

Buying verdict

Compared with choosing a cable just for a basic monitor connection, the S1334 is aimed at setups where DP80 bandwidth, high refresh rates and gaming features matter. Its VESA certification, 80Gbps rating, HDR support and audio pass-through make it a practical fit for connecting a gaming PC to a capable DisplayPort monitor, with a 6.6 ft reach for everyday desktop placement.
