Marvel Thor: The Dark World (Bilingual) DVD, NTSC, 1-Hour-52-Minute Runtime
Product description
On NTSC DVD, Thor: The Dark World brings Thor’s next adventure to a physical movie collection. The story follows him as an ancient enemy threatens Earth and the Nine Realms, drawing him into an uneasy alliance with Loki and a personal fight to protect the people he loves.
With Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston, this action-adventure runs for 1 hour and 52 minutes and comes on one disc. It’s a feature-length pick for a planned movie night or for adding another chapter to a Marvel film collection.
At a glance
Directed by Alan Taylor, the film continues Thor’s story after Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers. Malekith and an ancient race threaten to plunge the universe into darkness, Thor must confront that danger with help from his brother Loki. The cosmic stakes give the story room for large-scale action, while Jane Foster’s return brings a personal thread into Thor’s mission.
The DVD includes bonus content, including a deleted scene and an exclusive look at Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. That makes the disc relevant not only for watching the feature, but also for viewers interested in additional material connected to the film and its wider Marvel setting. The Canadian home video rating is PG.
Tips for day-to-day use
Choose this DVD when you want a physical copy to keep with your films and play as part of a dedicated movie night. Its single-disc format keeps the feature and bonus material together, while the 1-hour-52-minute runtime gives you a clear idea of the viewing commitment when planning an evening.
The product is listed in NTSC format. For a collection focused on physical discs, that format and the included extras are part of the appeal, viewers who mainly want to choose films on demand may prefer a streaming-based approach. The title identifies this edition as “Bilingual”, the listed language is English.
Usage tips
The plot centres on Thor’s return to action, his relationship with Loki and Jane Foster, and a threat spanning Earth and the Nine Realms. Watching Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers first can provide context for the continuing story, while the film can also serve as a standalone choice for a superhero action night. Its mix of cosmic conflict and familiar characters suits viewers looking for a feature-length Marvel adventure rather than a short extra or collection of clips.
The cast includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Anthony Hopkins. Viewers discussing the film often point to its energetic action, entertaining story and surprising ending, some also enjoy the bonus material. These are audience impressions, not a substitute for choosing based on the film’s characters and premise.
