Bates Motel: Season 2 DVD Set, 10 Episodes, English Dolby Digital 5.1
Product description
For a quick sample of a story, one episode may be enough, for a longer, connected watch, a full season keeps the tension building. Bates Motel: Season 2 brings all 10 episodes together for viewing back-to-back or spread across several evenings. Its White Pine Bay mysteries centre on Norman and Norma Bates, with Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga leading the cast.
What stands out
The season picks up after Miss Watson’s murder, as Norman’s blackouts and unusual behaviour deepen the questions around his innocence. At the same time, Norma faces family secrets and threats from local villains as she tries to find happiness. These storylines give the season a layered, suspenseful focus: personal relationships and hidden motives matter as much as the mystery itself.
This DVD-Video set includes all 10 episodes, with a total runtime of 7 hours and 8 minutes. The episodes can be watched consecutively for a sustained story arc, or revisited over several viewing sessions. The listed format is NTSC, and the audio is English Dolby Digital 5.1. Bonus content includes deleted scenes, two Bates Motel: After Hours features tied to the season premiere and finale, and Origins of a Psycho: Inside Bates Motel.
What matters most
The appeal here is a complete season in one collection, rather than an isolated episode: Norman’s increasingly unsettling behaviour and Norma’s struggles develop alongside one another, so the evolving plot is central to the viewing experience. That makes this set a natural fit for viewers following the Bates family story or looking for a suspense series to watch over multiple evenings. The familiar cast also anchors the shifting secrets and threats in White Pine Bay.
Buyers often praise the acting and describe the series as gripping and enjoyable to watch. Some also raise concerns about French-language availability. The listed audio is English, so language choice is a practical consideration for households looking for a particular viewing experience.
Tips for day-to-day use
With 10 episodes and more than seven hours of content, the set offers flexibility: settle in for consecutive episodes or pick up the story in shorter sessions. The deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes feature provide extra material for viewers who want to spend more time with the season after finishing the episodes. The After Hours features are associated with the premiere and finale, making them relevant additions at either end of a season watch.
