Where it shines

The story gives the newer characters and the original team a shared mission, with the action returning to the iconic New York City firehouse. The Spengler family’s arrival there connects the new adventure to the franchise’s roots, while the ancient artifact and ghost-filled threat give the group a clear reason to join forces.

Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon and Paul Rudd feature alongside returning original Ghostbusters, including Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson. That mix makes the film appealing to viewers following the newer characters as well as fans who enjoy seeing familiar members of the team back in the story. At 1 hour and 55 minutes, it offers a full-length feature for an evening watch.
