Best use cases

Choose this edition for a horror movie night, especially if the group has been following the Conjuring films and wants to see Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga’s final appearance as Ed and Lorraine Warren. The 2-hour-and-17-minute runtime makes it a full-length feature for an evening viewing, while the English and Spanish audio options support different language preferences.

The movie is inspired by the Smurl family haunting, so it suits viewers drawn to supernatural stories rooted in a reported case. It also works as a series addition for fans who want this chapter alongside other Conjuring titles. Buyer reactions to the scariness are mixed: some describe it as among the scariest entries, while others find it less frightening or slower paced. That range is useful context for choosing it based on interest in the franchise and its story rather than expecting every viewer to react the same way.

What you get

The release includes the feature film on Blu-ray and bonus content focused on the movie and its production. “Last Rites: An Era Ends” looks at the end of an era, while “The Conjuring: Crafting Scares” explores the film’s scare-making. “Michael Chaves: Believer” adds a director-focused feature. Together, these extras give fans more context around the film after the main story, without changing the straightforward appeal of a feature-length horror release.

Final verdict

The Conjuring: Last Rites is a strong fit for viewers who want the latest Warren case in Blu-ray format, value having several listed audio options, or enjoy going beyond the feature with filmmaking extras. Its connection to the Smurl haunting and the final on-screen appearance of Wilson and Farmiga as the Warrens give this release a distinct role for fans building out their Conjuring collection.
