Practical Magic / Witches of Eastwick 883929123285 Blu-ray Double Feature
Product description
This Blu-ray pairs Practical Magic with The Witches of Eastwick. Both films bring witchcraft, comedy, and romance into the story. The combined runtime is 3 hours and 43 minutes. English, French, and Spanish subtitles offer viewing options for different households.
How it fits
Practical Magic follows sisters played by Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as they navigate a family curse, romantic complications, and the witchcraft taught by their aunts. The Witches of Eastwick shifts to a New England town, where three women—played by Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer—encounter the wealthy and magnetic Daryl van Horne, played by Jack Nicholson. Together, the films make this collection a natural choice for a movie night centered on witty supernatural stories, memorable ensemble casts, and romance with a fantastical edge.
The two-film format suits viewers who want both stories in one collection rather than selecting titles individually. It also gives a gathering more than one take on modern witches: one story follows sisters and their family history, while the other brings three friends together around an intriguing arrival in town. English audio is presented in DTS-HD 5.1, and subtitles in English, French, and Spanish provide additional ways to follow the dialogue.
Pros
The appeal here is the contrast between the films. Practical Magic mixes family bonds and romantic complications with its supernatural premise, while The Witches of Eastwick leans into a trio of friends and an unpredictable newcomer. That range makes the pairing well suited to a double feature without relying on the same characters or story setup throughout.
The cast is a major draw, with Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Cher, Susan Sarandon, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Jack Nicholson among the featured performers. Buyers have praised the movies’ humor, performances, and entertainment value, some also say the picture looks clearer than DVD. Playback feedback is mixed, so the viewing experience can vary by copy or setup. The collection’s R rating is worth considering when choosing a movie for a household or group.
