Roosty's Nesting Herbs - Chili 1LB Chicken Coop Refresher, 12-Ingredient Blend

For chicken keepers who want to add an herb blend to nesting areas, Roosty's Chicken Nesting Herbs Chili Mix is designed for coop floors, bedding, or coop sand. The 16-ounce product is a granulated, plant-based blend. Chili is its distinguishing ingredient, alongside herbs and flowers.

Key points

The blend contains 12 ingredients, including rose petals, chili, calendula, mint, sage, and chamomile, the full ingredient list is not provided. Roosty's describes it as a coop refresher and says it can be sprinkled on the floor or mixed into chicken coop sand. That gives keepers two straightforward ways to include it in an existing coop setup, rather than requiring a separate application method.

The product is listed for chickens of all life stages and for outdoor use. The manufacturer also presents it as suitable for nesting bedding and as a nutritious snack. Those descriptions explain the intended role, but the available details do not establish specific health or egg-production results. Buyers’ comments often praise the blend’s fragrance and report that their chickens enjoy it. Some also describe health benefits, but these are individual impressions, not a stated product guarantee.

Who it’s for

This is aimed at chicken keepers who want an herb-and-chili mix to use in nesting areas or alongside coop sand. It may suit someone who prefers to add a scented blend to bedding instead of relying on plain bedding or sand alone. The granulated form is intended to be sprinkled or mixed in, so it fits a routine where coop materials are already being refreshed.

The listed animal and life-stage details are specific to chickens, and the product is described as plant-based. It makes sense if you want a coop additive that can also be mixed into an existing setup. Better avoided if you need a dependable pest-control solution: although the maker says chili helps keep unwanted guests away, buyer reports on pest prevention are mixed, with some noting that it did not deter mice.

How to use it

Sprinkle the herbs on the coop floor or mix them with chicken coop sand, as directed in the product details. The listing does not specify an amount or application schedule, so it does not support a precise dosing routine. Keep the intended use in mind: the product is presented for nesting bedding and coop areas, not as a replacement for the underlying bedding or sand.

Questions before you buy

What ingredients are included? The blend is said to contain 12 ingredients. Rose petals, chili, calendula, mint, sage, and chamomile are named, with other ingredients not specified in the available details.

How can it be added to a coop? The listed options are sprinkling it on the floor or mixing it into coop sand.

Does it keep pests away? Chili is promoted for helping deter unwanted guests, but customer impressions vary. Treat pest prevention as an intended benefit, not a guaranteed outcome.

When it makes sense

Choose this blend if you want a granulated herb mix for chicken nesting areas and value the option of adding it to bedding or sand. The reported fragrance and chicken acceptance may matter to keepers looking for more than plain coop material, though those comments are subjective. If pest control is your main reason for buying, the mixed reports make it sensible to choose based on the coop-refreshing use rather than expecting the blend to solve that problem.
