Pros

Black soldier fly larvae are naturally rich in calcium, with the product described as providing up to 85 times more calcium than mealworms. For laying hens, that makes them a purposeful treat choice when calcium content is a priority. The larvae are also described as a source of protein and as suitable for supporting egg production, feather growth, immune support, and muscle care.

The ingredients are identified as non-GMO, with no additives or preservatives. That gives keepers looking for a straightforward, animal-based treat an alternative to mealworms. Customers commonly praise how readily their chickens eat the larvae and mention the generous package size and freshness. Feedback on odor is mixed, so impressions of the smell vary.
