KAYHEN Dried Black Soldier Fly Larvae Treats, 5 lb, High-Protein

For backyard chickens, wild birds, or ducks, KAYHEN dried black soldier fly larvae offer a protein-rich treat with a notable calcium advantage over dried mealworms.

The larvae are listed as containing 45% protein and at least 85 times more calcium than dried mealworms. That makes them a distinct choice for keepers looking to add a calcium-rich treat to an animal’s feeding routine.

Choose them for a simple, single-ingredient-style treat with broad appeal across poultry and other animals. If your priority is a familiar dried mealworm treat, that is a different format, these larvae emphasize their protein and calcium content.

Spec sheet

KAYHEN’s larvae are described as non-GMO and raised on an organic diet of bran, flour, and leftover fruits and vegetables. They can be offered as a treat or dietary supplement, or incorporated into homemade pet foods and treats. The resealable bag is practical for keeping the remaining larvae closed between servings.

Usage tips

Their dried form also makes them suitable for mixing into homemade pet foods and treats. For a backyard flock, they can add variety to feeding time, for wild birds, they provide a treat that customers say draws their birds in.

Buyer feedback describes chickens, ducks, and wild birds eagerly eating the larvae. Some customers also report changes in egg production or feather health. These are individual experiences, not guaranteed results, but they give a useful sense of how owners use the product. Customers also mention that the larvae stay fresh in storage and are a convenient treat for a range of animals, including reptiles.
