HIM 191329276037 Collector's Edition Blu-ray + Digital with Bonus Features
Product description
Some movie nights are about a straightforward scare, others call for suspense that keeps shifting as the story unfolds. HIM brings those strands together in a football-centered tale of ambition, mentorship, and danger. This Collector's Edition pairs a Blu-ray with a digital copy and a lineup of behind-the-scenes extras. Its 1 hour and 37 minute runtime makes it a focused feature for a horror or thriller night.
Best use cases
The story follows quarterback Cameron Cade after an attack by an unhinged fan leaves him looking for a way forward. His football idol, Isaiah White, offers to train him, but the mentorship takes a sinister turn. That setup gives the film a clear appeal for viewers who enjoy psychological tension alongside sports themes, and for fans of stories about the cost of pursuing excellence. English audio in Dolby Atmos and Spanish audio in Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 provide two listed soundtrack options for watching at home.
The included digital copy adds another way to watch beyond the Blu-ray disc, redemption is subject to expiration, with details available through NBCUCodes.com. If you like to explore how a movie was made after the feature, the Collector's Edition also includes a substantial set of bonus material. It suits a movie night followed by a closer look at the scenes, filmmaking choices, and alternate ending.
Technical overview
- Format: Blu-ray
The feature is rated R and runs 1 hour and 37 minutes. Listed audio options are English Dolby Atmos and Spanish Dolby Digital Plus 7.1. The package includes a digital copy of HIM, subject to expiration.
Bonus content includes the alternate ending “Zay's Nightmare,” a deleted end-credits scene, additional deleted scenes, “Becoming Them,” “The Sport of Filmmaking,” and two Anatomy of a Scene segments: “A Diabolical Game of Catch” and “Rebirth.” It also includes “Hymns of a GOAT” and feature commentary with director and co-writer Justin Tipping. These extras offer several ways to revisit the film, from individual scenes to the creative decisions behind them.
Pros
The strongest draw is the combination of a complete feature and extras that cover different parts of its production. The alternate ending and deleted scenes are appealing for viewers curious about material outside the final cut, while the commentary and filmmaking features offer more context about how the movie came together. That makes this edition a more involved choice than buying a disc solely to watch the main feature.
Viewer reactions generally describe HIM as a good horror film, though opinions on its genre vary: some emphasize its suspense-thriller feel, while others find its style strange or its horror less frightening. That distinction is useful when choosing it for a group: it is pitched around an unsettling spiral and suspense, rather than only conventional scares.
Should you buy it?
A solid pick if you want a home-video edition that combines a horror-tinged thriller with material to explore after the credits. The football-idol setup gives the story a distinctive backdrop, while the digital copy and extensive bonus lineup add options beyond the Blu-ray feature. Choose this Collector's Edition for a suspense-focused movie night, especially if alternate scenes, commentary, and filmmaking extras are part of what you enjoy in a physical release.
