## Description

Calcium-rich dried black soldier fly larvae give backyard chickens a natural treat that can also support stronger eggshells. The 10-pound supply is suited to regular flock feeding, and the larvae can also be offered to wild birds and other animals listed for this product.

With a resealable bag inside a sturdy box, the feed is easy to store between servings. Keep it in a cool, dry place, refrigeration is not required.

## Size & fit

This package contains 10 pounds of dried larvae in a carton measuring 12.8 x 7.23 x 16.5 inches. The larvae are intended as chicken feed and treats, with additional listed uses for ducks, wild birds, reptiles, amphibians, hamsters, turtles, fish, and hedgehogs. Their dried form makes them practical to keep on hand for flock treats or bird feeding.

## Pros

Black soldier fly larvae are naturally rich in calcium, with the product described as providing up to 85 times more calcium than mealworms. For laying hens, that makes them a purposeful treat choice when calcium content is a priority. The larvae are also described as a source of protein and as suitable for supporting egg production, feather growth, immune support, and muscle care.

The ingredients are identified as non-GMO, with no additives or preservatives. That gives keepers looking for a straightforward, animal-based treat an alternative to mealworms. Customers commonly praise how readily their chickens eat the larvae and mention the generous package size and freshness. Feedback on odor is mixed, so impressions of the smell vary.
