LEGO 40815 Birthday Party Cake building set, 219 pieces with 10 candles
Product description
For children aged 7 and over who enjoy building and decorating, LEGO Birthday Party Cake 40815 turns a birthday theme into a hands-on craft activity. The set includes 219 pieces for making a colourful cake, with flowers, swirls and 10 candles to arrange. It is designed to be customised rather than eaten, so it suits play and room display as well as a birthday gift.
The finished build also has a hidden compartment for storing the decorations, giving them a place to go between uses.
Who it’s for
This set is aimed at children aged 7+ and could suit a child who likes creative construction more than a conventional ready-made decoration. Arranging the flowers, swirls and candles gives them choices to make as they build, while the cake can be set up again for play or display. The 10 candles can be used to match a child’s age or all added to the display, the set does not require the decorations to be arranged in just one way.
You’ll like it if you want a birthday-themed activity that can be assembled and personalised, rather than a decoration that is only used once. It could also work as a gift for a special occasion, especially where the recipient already enjoys building toys.

Benefits
The main appeal is the combination of building and decorating. Once assembled, the cake can be changed with its flowers, swirls and candles, so it has a creative role beyond putting the pieces together. For a birthday at home, a child could build it in advance, personalise the candle arrangement and use it as a themed display in their room. Its hidden compartment is a practical touch for keeping the decorations with the set when they are not on the cake.
Compared with buying a purely decorative birthday item, this set gives the child something to construct and rearrange. It is still a plastic toy, not a real cake or a serving item, so it suits imaginative play and display rather than replacing food or tableware. The listed dimensions may also help when deciding whether there is room to keep the assembled build on a shelf.
Before you decide
What age is the set for? It is listed for ages 7 and up. The safety warning says it contains small parts and is not suitable for children under 3 years old.
How can the candles be used? The set includes 10 candles. They can be arranged to match a child’s age, or all used together for a display.
Where do the decorations go when the cake is not being used? The build has a hidden compartment intended for storing the decorations.
Should you buy it?
Choose LEGO Birthday Party Cake 40815 if the appeal is a birthday-themed build that can be personalised, displayed and packed away with its decorations. The 219-piece format and age guidance make it a defined activity for children aged 7+, while the candles and floral details give the finished cake a celebratory look. It may not suit you if you need an edible cake or a ready-to-use party decoration, this is a plastic construction toy, and its value is in building and reconfiguring it.
