Vicloon Magnetic Wooden Fishing Game, Kitten Style, 8 Fish and 2 Rods

The magnetic fishing rods give children a hands-on way to pick up the fish, making colour recognition and hand-eye coordination part of the game rather than a separate exercise. This Vicloon set is made from wood and comes in a kitten style, with pieces intended for children aged 3 and over.

It is designed for shared play as well as taking turns, so an adult can join in or help younger players get started.

Tech summary

The core activity is simple: use a rod to connect with the iron piece in a fish and lift it. That gives children practice with controlled movements and concentration, while the different-coloured fish can prompt colour naming and sorting. The maker also presents it as a way to encourage logical thinking, imagination and problem-solving, these are potential benefits of the activity, not guaranteed outcomes.

• Type: Magnetic wooden fishing game
• Style: Kitten Style
• Pieces: 8 fish and 2 fishing rods
• Age guidance: 3 and up
• Assembly: Not required
• Material: Wood

Unlike a basic colour-matching activity, this game adds the physical challenge of aiming and lifting. That makes it better suited to children who enjoy interactive play, for a quick, quiet matching task, a simpler card or picture activity may be more direct.

Practical tips

Set the fish out where children can reach them and take turns using the rods. A parent or carer can make the game more varied by asking players to find a particular colour, count their catches or describe the fish they pick up. These are ways to use the pieces already provided, rather than extra game components.

The listing advises that children play under adult supervision. It gives an age guideline of 3 and up, so this is not presented as an unattended toy for younger children. There is no assembly required, which keeps setup straightforward for a short activity at home, during a family visit or as part of group play.

What you get

The set includes 8 fish and 2 fishing rods. The listing describes the fish as wooden pieces with iron parts that connect with the rods, it does not specify dimensions or a storage container. The wood has edges coated with water-based dye, according to the product details. Colour may vary slightly from the listing images, and the description notes that measurements may have some variation.

Customer feedback describes the game as enjoyable, particularly for play with grandchildren. Views on value are mixed: some buyers consider it good value, while others feel it is not worth the price. That makes it sensible to judge it by the included pieces and the kind of shared activity you want, rather than assuming it will suit every child or household.

Should you buy it?

It makes sense if you want a compact, no-assembly activity that combines taking turns with a simple physical challenge, and the child is within the stated age guidance. The two rods also make shared play possible without needing players to pass a single one around. It may not suit you if you need a toy for a child under 3 or one that can be used without adult supervision. For families choosing between a hands-on game and a more passive matching toy, this set leans towards active, social play, its appeal will depend on whether children enjoy aiming and lifting the fish.
