The 75% layout is designed to save desk space while retaining essential commands, and the aluminium case gives the keyboard a durable build. Its socketed PCB lets you replace the pre-installed switches with compatible 3-pin or 5-pin options, which is useful if you want to change the feel of the keys later. The gasket-mounted FR4 plate, lubricated stabilizers, tape-enhanced PCB and two layers of sound-dampening foam are part of the typing design, they are not a substitute for choosing switches that suit your preferred feel and sound.
Lighting is available per key, with additional RGB underglow on two sides. The Chroma lighting can add a coordinated look to a gaming setup, while the multi-function roller and media keys provide controls for playback, brightness and volume. The included wrist rest attaches magnetically and has a cushioned leatherette surface. Worth considering if you want a compact mechanical keyboard with tactile switches and room to customize its switch feel.
Compatibility
The listed compatible device is a PC. The keyboard connects via USB-A, and the included cable is USB Type-A to Type-C. The product details do not specify support for other device types, so this is best assessed as a wired PC keyboard rather than a wireless or multi-device option.
Tips for day-to-day use
For a gaming setup with limited desk space, the 75% layout can leave more room to position a mouse without moving to a more basic keyboard. The roller and media keys are handy when adjusting volume or playback at the desk, and the wrist rest can be attached for a cushioned hand position. Its RGB controls also let you set per-key lighting and two-sided underglow for the rest of the setup.
If you plan to customize the typing feel, the included keycap and switch puller support switch changes, provided the replacement switches use a compatible 3-pin or 5-pin format. You may want to skip it if you specifically prefer a larger keyboard layout, this model is built around a compact 75% format. The pre-loaded Orange switches are tactile and quieter in actuation than clicky switches, but they still have a tactile bump rather than a linear feel.
Buying verdict
The BlackWidow V4 75% makes most sense for a PC setup where desk space, tactile typing and future switch customization matter more than a larger layout. Its included wrist rest, media controls and lighting add useful everyday flexibility alongside the hot-swappable design. For a straightforward keyboard without interest in changing switches or customizing RGB, those features may matter less, the main reason to choose this model over a more basic compact keyboard is the combination of replaceable switches, Orange tactile feel and built-in controls.
