Getting the most from it

Use the switch to share connected HDMI displays and USB accessories between computers rather than building a separate set of peripherals for each machine. For example, a desk with a work laptop and a desktop can use the same monitors, keyboard, and other connected USB devices, with the remote controller available for switching between computers. The dock also provides Ethernet and audio connections, helping bring common desk connections together.

DisplayLink drivers are required for the monitors to output an image, so install the driver on each computer that will use the dock and set it to start automatically with the system. Computers need a USB 3.0-or-higher connection. The product is not designed to charge laptops. Since operation uses computer system resources, the manufacturer recommends an i7-or-higher CPU and at least 16GB of memory. For the listed display modes, the computer, monitors, and cables must support the corresponding resolution and refresh rate, cables under 3 feet are recommended for 4K at 60Hz.
