PG-240XL / CL-241XL Replacement Ink Cartridges

When a home printer runs out of both black and color ink, replacing the pair together can be simpler than shopping for each cartridge separately. This PG-240XL and CL-241XL combo includes one black cartridge and one tri-color cartridge.

It’s listed for a range of Canon PIXMA models, including the MG3620, TS5120, and MX472. Check your printer’s exact model against the compatibility list before choosing it.

The cartridges are replacements, not Canon-branded originals. What matters most is whether your printer is on the list and whether the stated page yields match the kind of printing you do.

How to use it

The package includes one PG-240XL black cartridge, one CL-241XL tri-color cartridge, and a user guide. The manufacturer describes both cartridges as high-yield and says upgraded chips support cartridge recognition and ink-level display in compatible printers. Those are useful features to look for in a replacement set, though the listing alone can’t establish how consistently they work in every printer.

The stated yields are up to 610 pages for black and 550 pages for color, based on 5% page coverage. That figure is a reference point, not a promise for every household: pages with dense graphics or large areas of color use more ink than lightly printed text. If you mainly print forms, schoolwork, or occasional documents, the black cartridge’s stated yield may be the more relevant number, color-heavy projects make the tri-color yield worth closer attention.

Pros

• Includes both black and tri-color cartridges, so you can replace the pair in one purchase.
• Lists compatibility with several PIXMA printer families, including MG, MX, and TS models.
• Gives separate page-yield figures for black and color, with the 5% coverage basis stated.
• The listing says the cartridges have upgraded chips for recognition and ink-level reporting.

A practical limitation: the compatibility list is specific, and a similar-looking printer model isn’t enough to confirm a match. The stated yields also won’t predict your results if you print graphics or color photos often. Without having tried it, those claims should be treated as product information rather than a guarantee of performance in your setup.

When it makes sense

Worth considering if you want a paired black-and-color replacement for a printer explicitly listed above, and you’re comfortable choosing a compatible cartridge rather than focusing on an original-brand replacement. For example, if your printer is a listed PIXMA model and you mostly print text with occasional color charts, having both cartridges in the same pack may suit that routine.

It may not suit you if your exact printer model isn’t listed, or if you need predictable results for frequent, color-intensive printing. In that case, prioritize a cartridge option with compatibility and performance information that fits your specific printer and print workload.
