LxTek 85A CE285A Compatible Black Toner Cartridge, 2-Pack for HP LaserJet Pro

Some buyers need a ready-to-use replacement for a specific printer, others want to keep a second cartridge on hand. This LxTek two-pack is built around the 85A CE285A black toner format. Its listed printer compatibility and page-yield estimate help clarify whether it fits your setup.

Why it’s worth it

The pack contains two black replacement cartridges, so it can suit someone planning ahead for another replacement rather than buying one at a time. Each cartridge is rated for up to 1,600 pages at 5% coverage on Letter/A4 paper. That figure is a stated estimate, not a promise of the same page count for every document: coverage affects how much toner a page uses.

The listing also describes an intelligent chip and refined toner, but does not provide further detail about the chip’s functions. Buyer feedback is positive about print appearance, with customers describing output as clear and dark. Opinions are less consistent on compatibility and cartridge life: some say the toner works in their printer and lasts well, while others report recognition issues or wish it lasted longer. Those mixed experiences matter if dependable printer acceptance or a particular lifespan is essential.

Quick overview

This is a compatible replacement for HP 85A CE285A toner, not a general-purpose cartridge. The stated compatible models are HP LaserJet Pro P1102W (CE657A#BGJ and CE658A#BGJ), P1109W (CE662A), M1212NF MFP (CE841A#BGJ), M1132, M1138, M1139, M1219NF, and M1217NFW. Match the exact printer model against that list before choosing, a similar model name alone does not establish compatibility.

The page-yield estimate is given per cartridge, while the package includes two. That distinction makes the quantity easier to assess when planning replacements. It makes sense if your printer is one of the listed models and you want two black cartridges in the same pack. For a printer outside that list, the product details do not establish a fit.

Who it’s for

This pack may suit a home or small-workspace setup that uses one of the listed LaserJet models and needs black toner for everyday documents. A two-cartridge pack is also practical for someone who prefers to have a replacement available rather than source one only when the current cartridge runs out. The stated yield can help with rough planning, although actual pages depend on print coverage.

If you are comparing this with purchasing a single compatible cartridge, the main difference here is the quantity supplied, not a different printer range or color option. Buyers’ reports are divided on whether every printer accepts the cartridge, so the compatibility list should guide the decision more than a broad expectation that all HP printers will work.

Buying verdict

The LxTek 85A CE285A two-pack is worth considering when the exact printer model appears in its compatibility list and two black replacements suit your printing routine. Its useful decision points are the per-cartridge yield estimate and the specifically named printer models, customer feedback adds a positive note on print clarity, but also a real caveat around recognition and lifespan. It might not be a great match if your printer is not listed or you need consistent confirmation that it will accept the cartridge, since buyer experiences on compatibility are mixed.
